"We stayed four nights over New Years at Bay of the Floating Palms. The five star reviews set up very high expectations (and maybe some of them are from awhile ago) so I want to leave a more sober review.On the plus side: the house is beautiful, beds clean and very comfortable, the family of caretakers is wonderful, attentive and caring. Audrey, the owner, is responsive by WA text. When we complained about the condition of the property she did her best to accommodate our concerns. The house is located on a small beach on a remote part of Bastimos Island. There are 3 small eco-resorts a short distance walk from the house. "

"The staff was amazing. The food was good. The room was beautiful. I stayed in one of the above water bungalows. The only downfall is there is very little to do nearby. You are pretty much stranded on this island unless you arrange some kind of transport or tour. If you’re looking for a vacation where you can totally check out from the world this is it. If you’re looking for a place to do lots of activities, this is not. Management took care of everything I asked for, including an unexpected early arrival. "

"Tropical private paradise. Beautiful rustic bungalow right on aqua waters. We came on off season and felt like we had the island to ourselves. There are kayaks to use as well. If you want more restaurants and life come in the main dry season. There is coral snorkeling nearby and an amazing indigenous guide and chef named Calypso who showed us all the local animals, sloths, monkeys, frogs, caiman and plant medicines. James the host answered any questions or needs we had. Be sure to ask him a lot of questions because we wish we brought more water and food on the off season. But he’s very responsive and helped us with our needs. Be mindful this is a rustic jungle experience with lots of jungle critters, birds crabs, doggies around. Bring som bug spray and enjoy this adventurous experience. "
