"Very nice view of the lake. Very helpful staff. The rooms have a private onsen hot tub on the balcony. The rooms have tatami and are set up to sleep on the floor. You can request a bed frame to elevate the futon, but it's better to request a bed when making the reservation (although you may enjoy sleeping on a futon, Japanese style)."

"It was easy to find from the station, breakfast was good, the public bath was good ( you do need to strip down to your birthday suite), the room was good except the bed it was one step up from sleeping on the hard ground."

Central to shops and restaurants with a FREE breakfast at the hotel as part of the booking and what a breakfast enough to say we didn't need to stop for lunch. They also had a choice of three free gifts which I picked the box which to my wife was a delight as it was a miniature Origami set. Room was clean and comfortable. "

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."

"I liked the fact that there was 2 public baths and a sauna. The price was super reasonable. I really liked the quietness of the town. It was like Kyoto (without a bunch of tourists). I would like to stay there again to relax."
