"Fantastic hotel set in an 800 year old castle. Stunning building, rooms beautifully furnished with all amenities, delightful castle grounds, magnificent setting for the restaurant with quality food. Breakfast excellent too. Difficulty with room keys on arrival and had to return to reception for replacements. On entering room discovered that room was not as originally booked on hotels.com website. After again returning to reception and lengthy dialogue with staff that our room was incorrect...

"By the looks of the hotel online it’s very elegant. But it’s much dirtier, smells like cigarettes, and room is tiny. A lot of noise outside due to poor insulation. "This review would be different if the weather would have been hot. There is no air conditioning but only a fan. Otherwise it is a nice unique hotel with interesting decor. The receptionist was nice but there is some room for improvement of English skills. The location of the hotel is great with nice views of the main street. While there is traffic noise during the day, it gets quiet at night. "

"Our family of five loved staying in this magical property. If you rent the whole house, the layout is really well suited to a family with teenagers who like their independence. We loved the combination of modern comforts such as a fantastic coffee machine with antiques and period features. It's conveniently close to beautiful Banska Stiavnica which has great restaurants and so much to do and see.. We are a very outdoorsy family so loved all the lakes for swimming ans the great walking...
