Wicklow Cottage - lovely cottage on open farmland - Off Peak Special!

WICKLOW COTTAGE is a quaint cottage that accommodates up to 6 guests, surrounded by farmland and only a short drive (less than 10 mins) to Port Rickaby.

Open plan kitchen/dining with electric stove, large fridge/freezer, Lavazza Modo Mio coffee machine (BYO pods).
Lounge with large TV, 2 1/2 seater lounge, 1 single seater, reverse cycle split system air-conditioner, small drinks table, sitting room with combustion heater (BYO wood), 3 seater lounge, 2 single seaters, drink trolley.

Bathroom/laundry with shower, vanity, w/c, trough, front loading washing machine.

Large enclosed back yard with outdoor setting under verandah, hooded BBQ, clothesline, small garden shed accessible to guests.

Plenty of room for parking and boat.

Port Rickaby is a quiet seaside township less than 10 minutes away, there is a Jetty, Caravan Park, kiosk with take-away meals, fuel, ice, bait and other general supplies. Minlaton township is only a 15 minute drive, there is a hotel & bottle shop, Foodland, post office, service station, deli/takeaway, chemist and other stores.

Bed configuration – bed 1- queen bed with a ceiling fan – bed 2 - double bed – bed 3 - 2 single beds.

Pillows and quilts are provided, you will need to bring your own linen - pillow cases, top/bottom sheets, towels/bath mat and tea towels.

LINEN HIRE: linen can be hired for $50 each bed, includes towels. If all beds are required it will be $150 making 1 single bed free of charge.

Farm cottage
We were very happy with the farm cottage, especially being pet friendly. The only drawback is the 'hit & miss' phone & internet coverage, but it didn't take long to find the areas of strongest signal. We will definitely book again.

Reviewer Comments: We spent 3 very comfortable nights in Wicklow Cottage and can strongly recommend it. It is a house with a history, well and handsomely renovated by its long term owners. It is comfortably furnished with an aesthetically coherent mix of old and contemporary furniture in very generously sized rooms. The kitchen is very well equipped, and everything is clean and well maintained. The house and secure back garden offer numerous spaces for relaxing depending on the weather. It is secluded and very quiet on its country road but within only a few kilometers of attractive coast at Point Rickaby and surrounds. The nearest town, Minlaton, offers all retail necessities for stocking up with food and drink for one's visit. Prior to our stay the general instructions from Accommodation on Yorkes, which did not seem to be specific to the property, indicated that we would need to provide our own toilet paper, bin liners, condiments, etc. This was unexpected. We bought the requisite items beforehand only to find that Wicklow Cottage was well provided with all the basics, indeed generously equipped. We believe this information to guests from Accommodation on Yorkes did Wicklow Cottage a disservice and underrates the property. We would have benefitted from either more or somewhat brighter in the main lounge and bedroom.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four plus mini schnauzer had a wonderful stay in Wicklow Cottage. The cottage is furnished tastefully and comfortably. It has two sitting rooms a lovely bright kitchen with 6 seated dining table. Good shower with hot water. It was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay. We'd love to visit again.There's minimal Internet (which is stated) but plenty of boardgames and books provided. There's a TV and DVD player if your keen to watch a movie.

An isolated cottage amidst green fields ideal for a peaceful getaway but only 10 mins from the lovely township of Minlaton. Convenient location as it wasn't too far from all the other towns in the southern area of the peninsula which we visited..

Very Nice Country Cottage

Quite close to Port Rickaby which doesn't have much and still close to the much larger Minlaton. Some maintenance needed on the flyscreens. 3 good sized bedrooms and two sitting rooms, one with a large tv. There are no nearby restaurants but that didn't bother us.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Long weekend in March, we had a delightful stay at Wicklow Cottage. Great location close to the sea and also township of Minlaton. We spent the days exploring beaches (Port Rickaby 10 or so mins away) and the evenings playing cards and listening to the birds. Beautiful cottage full of history, lovingly restored. If you are looking for a bit of time to get away from it all, I’d certainly recommend this place.
