Poipu Beach Plantation Style Cottage

This custom designed Hawaiian plantation style cottage is located just steps from Poipu Beach Park and Brennecke’s beach on a quiet dead end street. It is the perfect vacation retreat. Hale Honu was just completed in September of 2014 and was designed to fit in with it’s historic neighborhood and the ancient Hawaiian Village that borders the backyard. Its location give a secluded feeling while being close to beautiful Poipu Beach. The cottage's plantation style is the perfect mix of old Hawaii while offering every modern luxury. Outside is a barbeque grilling area and a beautiful double garden shower accessible from either the guest bath or from outdoors. The open floor plan has a living room that opens up to the oversized covered lanai through expansive retractable glass doors. This allows the indoor and outdoor space to truly become one. Enjoy spending time on the spacious covered lanai, eating at the large dining table, relaxing in the conversation area or just lounging on the two chaises to watch the beautiful Kauai sunset. Ceiling fans keep the living areas breezy and cool. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range, full size refrigerator, whisper quiet dishwasher, as well as, granite counters, open shelving, and is fully stocked for all cooking and baking needs. The entertainment system includes a wide screen TV with surround sound, apple TV, blue ray DVD , as well as speakers through out the living room and the lanai Wi-Fi is included throughout the house and lanai as well as TVs in both of the bedrooms. Upstairs the bedroom has a California King bed and a private bath with claw foot tub/shower along with a window AC unit. There is also a screened in lanai/sleeping porch that overlooks the Ancient Hawaiian Village which is perfect for an afternoon nap or early morning coffee. The downstairs bedroom also has a window AC unit and a Queen Bed with adjoining bathroom which has a glass enclosed shower and access to the outdoor double garden shower.

Loved this place. The Lani makes the place huge and it comes with all the amenities/supplies you need including bikes, snorkel gear, umbrellas, lawn chairs, and even a nifty wagon to bring everything to the beach.

This was our second stay at this house and everything about it was perfect - the location is close to beaches (where we saw sea turtles every day!), it is well-equipped with everything you need for the beach and we loved the decor and furnishings too. Property is just as advertised. Great location and the house has all the amenities we were looking for. Definitely recommend using the air conditioners at night or the roosters will wake you up early! We really enjoyed our stay.

Really enjoyed our quiet (albeit for the Kaua’i roosters that you’ll get use to) stay here. Being able to open up the living room really made this stay - a great opportunity to host family dinners and drinks as well. If we look to stay in the area again, we’d definitely consider this home again.

This place was phenomenal! So much room and great covered outdoor space for the storm that blew through. The kids enjoyed sleeping on the screened in lanai. We had one small issue, and the owner and property manager were very quick to respond! The location to the beach was amazing. We definitely hope to return again soon!

Our family had an amazing time at this property. We had all the essentials and appreciated how much care went into decorating and supplying the home. The open air lanai was perfect and we did not need A/C even on the hottest of days. Our kids absolutely loved the screened in crow's nest. Great place to watch the sunset. We will be back!

This home was great in pictures, but to our surprise, was even better in person!! It was so clean, decorated beautifully, and fully stocked with everything we needed during our stay! The outdoor showers were amazing, and having the garage stocked with everything we could need for the beach made it all so convenient! The location is close to everything, but feels so private and quiet. We would definitely stay here again- if you are looking, don't hesitate- it books fast!! We didn't want to leave!!

Great House in a Great Location!
We have rented many vacation homes over the years…and this was one of the absolute best! A fairly new home (but built beautifully in traditional Hawai’i style) that is well appointed and has everything you need for the beach! Located at the end of a 4-house driveway, it was very private and quiet - if you don’t count the roosters! Located literally across the road from 2 great beaches (and the turtles!) and near Brennecke’s cafe and a walkable distance to coffee shops and Poipu shopping village. Don’t hesitate - book it if it’s available!

Beautiful location and home!
We had an absolutely wonderful vacation! This is a beautiful location, you are a short walk from Poipu Beach and restaurants. The house was clean and well appointed with everything we needed. Beach chairs, umbrellas, all that was needed for the beach along with a well stocked kitchen, where we enjoyed cooking dinner and eating on the lanai. The outdoor showers are a wonderful experience! We saw honu everyday, monk seals numerous days, along with an evening sighting of whales from Poipu Beach! We love this island and look forward to going back and would definitely book here again if available!

We have stayed at this beautiful home for at least 7 years now. The house is so beautiful and cozy and has all the amenities that makes it feel like our second home. I honestly could not think of anything that would make this home better. The beds are comfortable and the garage is organized with all the beach toys and supplies you need - including a wagon to transport everything. We love the outdoors showers and the open feel to this home. The owners are so responsive and very pleasant to work with. Mahalo for another amazing stay and vacation!

An incredible vacation spot!
We stayed here for our honeymoon. The house is even better than in pictures and had everything (and more!) that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the new AC units in the bedrooms. We enjoyed reading and hanging out on the lounge chairs on the back porch. There were towels, snorkel gear, and beach chairs available to take right up the street to Poipu Beach (which has some good snorkeling!) We even used the tennis rackets to play tennis at the local courts. The house location was a perfect jumping off spot for all of our adventures around Kauai. It offered a peaceful, private reprieve when we got back each day. The outdoor shower, water spouts (to clean off all the sand and mud) and BBQ in the backyard were all excellent things to have. We highly recommend this stay and would love to come back in the future!
