Great location, nice condo
I have stayed at Kuhio Shores before, many years ago (early 1980s) in a different ground floor unit, and it was great to revisit.
The good things: It was great to be next to the ocean with just the narrow strip of lawn separating the lanai from the ocean - hearing the waves was exactly what I had hoped. Fantastic view of the ocean, of course! Nice kitchen, and the closet full of gear was wonderful, especially the beach chairs and umbrella. First aid kit, too.
Separate AC in each bedroom as well as in the living area was great, so we could tailor to comfort level.
The not as good things: the furniture overall could use a refresh; the couch and chair cushions (which seem to be foam pads with fabric cover) are pretty much broken down and all covers could use a good wash or replace all.
The master bedroom is a bit dark, with poor lighting even with both lamps and the lights over the sink turned on. Although the drop lights at the sink area worked, there is a central spotlight over the sink that did not work. Also, the light in the shower area would randomly go out.
The bed in the master bedroom had a "well-used" feel - it is worn out with the typical "low sink spots" on both left and right sides. I tried to sleep in the center so there was a bit more support.
Overall, a mostly comfortable condo in a perfect location. The Beach House next door, Koloa shops and restaurants minutes away, easy drive to Hanapepe and Polihale. Can't go wrong with the location!
