A slice of heaven at Haven
We stayed in Cyprus for 10 days at the end of September 2020 and can fully recommend this wonderful holiday home. Our host Nora was the most welcoming, supportive and generous host we've ever experienced whilst traveling the world, so far. After greeting us at the house on arrival she then left us to it but kept in touch to check we had everything we needed. She very kindly dropped off some scales so we could weigh our suitcase after our scales broke.
When traveling do take note of the detail in the instructions that Nora provides on how to reach and enter the house as they are quite detailed and, if followed correctly, are all that you need. There was ample parking on the nearby street which is also visible from the house.
The holiday home itself is very well with some lovely ornaments dotted about, fresh flowers, lots of books and even some board games. The house is very clean and had all the appliances and utensils needed to cook at home and wash our clothes when required. There were also fans, air conditioners and heaters in the house to cater for hot or cold weather. It's also worth noting the windows (with shutters) and doors were great quality and we felt reassured the house was secure when we left each day to explore Cyprus. The beds were comfortable with spare blankets/pillows if needed.
Koilani is a hidden gem as far as we were concerned as for us it gave us the peace and quiet we were looking for and had everything else close by. At the time we visited the only restaurant open was To Korineon but the food was amazing and the owners Aristos and Maria very friendly. Try the meze but be warned that you will need an empty stomach to manage all the plates! There are a few wineries nearby which you should also visit if you have a chance as the wines are very nice and all within walking distance of the Haven holiday home.
Within a 30 minute drive of the house you can reach a variety of different places of interest. The Troodos mountain range is to the north east and there are lots of good trails to try out (there is a guide in the house) and Lemesos (Limassol) is to the south where there are some lovely beaches and ruins to explore at Kourion. Paphos is about 60 minutes away and Nicosia around 90 minutes, both with their unique charms.
