Cosy Cottage With Exposed Beams, Private Garden And Countryside Views

Gardeners Cottage has comfort and character and is an ideal base for visiting this beautiful part of North Yorkshire. Set in the grounds of the owners home Gardeners Cottage features an open plan living area, well equipped kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. The private garden has a table and chairs to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. Parking is available in the adjacent car port. The tranquil village of Staveley has its own great pub serving wonderful home cooked food, a Church and a nature reserve with hundreds of different species of wildlife and plants. This is an excellent base for walkers, cyclists, and those who simply want to relax and unwind. The ancient market town of Knaresborough is a 5 minute drive away, a great place to enjoy river walks and visit Old Mother Shipton's cave and petrifying well. The beautiful Spa town of Harrogate is 7 miles away and offers a varied day out - glorious gardens, the world famous Betty's tea rooms, the magnificent Turkish Baths and excellent shopping. The World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal are a 30 minute drive away. The owners are on hand to offer advice and local knowledge, having both lived in the area all our lives. Please note there are 10 steps leading from the car port to the cottage entrance.

The cottage was ideal for our stay in Yorkshire. Great location ... nice and quiet in a pretty village with a lovely nature reserve and decent pub. Easy reach of the Dales, Ripon, York, Harrogate and Fountains Abbey. Easy check in with private parking. The windfall apples were a bonus! Warm and comfy, decent WiFi and TV that worked. We had a small problem with the toilet but Emma got it repaired swiftly and without a fuss. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely area in a good location. Cottage was really good with everything you needed. Owners were helpful and provided all the information for our arrival. good information book in the cottage as well would definitely do a return visit.

An enjoyable stay in a lovely quiet village
The cottage was OK but some of the fixtures and fittings seemed a little tired e.g. The kitchen work tops are badly worn, the duvet on the bed was a 13.5 tog far too warm for the summer months and the spare duvet was not a duvet and was stained. However we did enjoy our stay.

Well located spacious cottage with views. Comfortable bed & seating. Kitchen & washing machine very adequate. Thanks to our host Emma who met us on arrival, was very helpful and made us feel at home. Good location and peaceful
Although this property is in peaceful countryside it is only 10 minutes away from a large supermarket and the A1(M) for access much further afield. This was ideal because we visited a lot of friends. We also needed an EV charging point but this was also close by. Emma was very welcoming and helpful in making suggestions for our exploring. The property was well equipped for 2 and very cosy.

Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful setting. Great directions and it was lovely to meet Emma once we had settled in. Comfy bed, great shower. The teabags and milk were appreciated, thank you! Easy walk to the Staveley Nature Reserve and the Royal Oak pub (although the staff didn't come across as friendly!). Would recommend The Two Brothers, Italian, in Knaresborough.

Relaxing and peaceful retreat
Comfortable cottage with stylish decor, perfect for our needs whilst visiting the surrounding area. Warm welcome from Emma the owner and good communication throughout. Would not hesitate to recommend the property, it was spotless and well equiped. Visited Thirsk, Malton, Knaresborough,York and Staveley Bridge during our stay. Good eateries within a short distance of the cottage. A great find.
