"The staff were friendly and the breakfast was simple (green salad, two egg fries, bread with butter and jam, fruits, and a pot of coffee or black tea) but delicious. Personally I liked Peppermint’s breakfast better than buffet breakfast, because we ate everything that’s served. No waste, so eco-friendly. Another thing we liked was a nearby museum. "The location is nice (about a 30 minute winding road drive from Karuizawa station), but the building is a bit on the older side. Dogs are allowed, and the walls are a bit thin, so when someone walks by outside or the (quite loud) AC unit switches on, expect to hear barking no matter what time it is. The beds are also quite old and not particularly comfortable. "
