Light n Bright on the Creek 39

This pet-friendly two bedroom condo is perfect for a larger family or group of up to 7 people. A large living room and wood fireplace provide the perfect, cozy venue to sit together and tell epic ski stories of your day on the hill. One bedroom sleeps two in a comfortable king sized bed, and the second is equipped with one queen and twin over twin bunks. Also available is an old-fashion roll-away bed. A covered deck provides year-round outdoor space and a chance to breathe the crisp, fresh air without leaving the comfort of your condo. This property is very "rustic" and is an affordable pet and family friendly option in Kirkwood. It has not been updated since being built in 1972. However, it has all new bedding and linens.

Super cute and convenient
Excellent location, my 5 year old could walk across the street to the lifts! Well stocked kitchen with all the appliances, pots and pans, comfortable beds. We had a great time. Would definitely rent again.

Great summer time stay
The post says the property is a bit aged but it was great. Very comfortable, not fancy but just like home. We highly recommend this. Great area to get out and around. Summer is quiet and close to many lakes, and hiking and even south lake Tahoe.

Wonderful space near Kirkwood’s Main Lodge
Checkin was incredibly easy and have liked the links and remote web based controls that have been put in place. The space was very comfy. And very creatively laid out. There was enough to entertain us but didn’t need it much given we skied everyday. The place was pretty clean and liked the decentralized heating within the rooms. The best was the heater in the downstairs bathroom which made showering on a stormy winter night very very comfortable. The place had all kinds of tools for the kitchen, but bring your own spices and condiments. Just wished there was tupperware to help store leftovers to avoid using so much Saran Wrap. We were there for a week which is perfect for winter.

It doesn’t make sense that they charge for cleaning if every single corner of the property is dirty, when we arrive a diaper was left on the balcony but I have to say only the beds were clean, the couch were filthy, rugs and floor are disgusting, the first impression of the property is horrible, even though it is on a good location.

We arrived at property and the place absolutely disgusting !! Seemed as is they just threw a couple garbage bags in trash cans and walked out. Black hairs all over counters and sinks, floors we not swept , vacuumed or mopped whole condo was extremely disappointing. Will never rent this location again.

This condo was just right
The condo was very comfortable for our family. It was exactly as described. It was used as a hub for all of our activities. All of our meals were prepared here with all the tools needed. Beds were very comfortable.

Disappointing condo. Time to update
I will try to be as fair as possible in this review. First, the positives. The Kirkwood Meadows area was lovely and as wonderful as we had hoped. We will be back!! But, we will not be renting from this host again. Although the listing for this rental states it has not been updated since 1972 it does not account for some of the dismal conditions we found. Where to begin? The carpets were filthy. Our well behaved and trained dogs simply could not stop sniffing and licking it. Carpet in the master bedroom is buckling and could pose a tripping hazard. Toilet in the upstairs bath clogged up after one use and we needed to use the plunger ( should have taken it's presence as a clue). Shower door in upstairs bath is coming apart and was very hard to move along its glide, and poses a safety hazard. There were no contents in the shampoo, etc containers in this bath. The biggest flaw was the second bedroom. You must have use flood lamps to take the photos! It was dark, dank and smelled bad.... a moldy rotten smell. Again, the carpet was not clean. We now know why the curtains were drawn in the photo in the listing. The window behind did not open and contained some quite ugly and ominous looking sort of insulation (??) that had been put there. Although the bedding was (as advertised) clean, the mattress on the fold away bed had a very nasty stain on it. Also, the ceilings in much of the rental had bad water stains. I DO have photos of everything I have mentioned. This was a very disappointing experience. I had rented it for an important family reunion ( my son came home from New York for the first time since Covid-19 hit) and, quite frankly, I was embarrassed to bring my loved ones to the "LIGHT N BRIGHT" which was anything BUT.

This condo is great. It is dated, especially the carpets, but that was clearly stated in the description and we appreciate that our dog was welcome. The kitchen and bathrooms were nicer than I expected and they were squeaky clean. My kids enjoyed the big sofa and we had fires in the fire place. We would stay here again.

Cozy Get-Away During Pandemic for Family of 5 + Pup
If you are looking for a luxurious, brand new facility, this is not your place. If you are looking for a cozy, well-appointed place (lots of kitchenware), you can't beat the location. We had a wonderful time during our 3-night stay with the Village lifts just across the street and a warm fire to enjoy at night. It was wonderful to be able to bring our dog. It was her first experience in the snow, and she loved it. The General Store is a couple hundred yards away, and we enjoyed walking the pup along the quiet street at night. The sky was clear and away from the city lights, we got great views of Orion, the Little Dipper and the Milky Way!

This condo needs an up do.
When we arrived there was a big round wet spot that the maid worked hard to get clean. It took 2 days to dry. You can still see it next to the table. The new stove put in 16thwas not finished on the sides. I wondered if it was up to code. This condo needs new flooring, carpet, tile, cabinets. I realize it is just a Rental. Would be worth it to redo some and update.
