"We enjoyed the seclusion and views of the lake. Morning boat trip to Nyombe swamp was fabulous - great to set off in mist and see sun rising then clear- good birds to see in swamp area Food good and service excellent Intermittent electricity in room bit frustrating and need to run shower for 10 minutes before any hot water. Wi-Fi only in main reception / restaurant area "

"Nice properly with beautiful green natural surroundings. Staff for dining were very slow. Buffet items were finished or cold when we got there and no effort to refill. Lunch only given choice of a la carte while others had buffet with lot of choice.Hans kept refusing any orders we requested as vegetarian including making a sandwich which despite explaining thoroughly he got it wrong. "My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

"The island is idyllic - Robert and his team provided a great service. The food was good (but wine expensive!). The swimming jetty is very rotten and the steps into the lake have disappeared so swimming is very difficult (unless you go through the mud). The cottages are different sizes and the showers vary in quality. The beds were very comfortable. Despite the slight negatives (and I am sure Robert will be on it when he reads this) we would definitely go again and stay a little longer than the...
