Milton Cottage is a delightful traditional thatched cottage tucked away down a little lane on the outskirts of South Milton Village near Thurlestone. A perfect retreat for those wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle yet all amenities and beaches are only a short drive away. Set in a secluded plot, Milton Cottage has a lovely big garden, ideal for children to play in or for the dogs to stretch their legs. There is also plenty of parking for 3 cars. This stunning Grade ll listed cottage dates back to the 16th century and boasts a wealth of period features including large inglenook fireplaces, traditional stone walls, beams and sloping floors. It is worth noting that ceiling and door heights vary throughout the cottage so anyone over 6ft tall will have to keep their wits to avoid a bump to the head. There are also many small steps throughout the property but all this adds to the character and history of the cottage.
You enter the cottage via a lovely stone utility/porch area with plenty of space for boots, coats and dog beds. This leads through to the large sitting and dining room, traditionally furnished with comfortable period furniture. The country kitchen is well equipped with everything you should need for a self catering holiday. There is a double oven with a warming drawer, fridge freezer, the hob sits in a feature inglenook, pantry, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen table seats 4 comfortably or you can dine in the majestic dining room where there is a large ornate table to seat up to 8.
Out the back overlooking the large beautiful country garden is the conservatory. This benefits from the sun for most of the day and is ideal for relaxing, taking a coffee and reading a book. The French doors open up onto the sunny patio, ideal for alfresco dining.
Upstairs there is a large corridor with many traditional pictures depicting the history of the local area. Bedroom 1 has a kingsize bed and low level cottage window overlooking the front area of the property. Bedroom 2 has a double bed with exposed beams and Bedroom 3 is a twin bedroom with an under eaves wardrobe. There is also a television in Bedroom 3 so an ideal retreat for the children while the adults have their time down stairs.
Upstairs there is a separate toilet and shower room with heated towel rail, and downstairs the bathroom has a bath with shower over.
