The master bedroom, adorned with a dreamy queen size bed, and the twin single room invite you to embrace the tranquility of your surroundings. Unwind in the intimate lounge, where plush seating beckons, and a wood fire burner flickers in harmony with the glow of the television.

The heart of the cottage reveals an open-plan dining area and kitchen, a haven of culinary delights equipped with standard utensils, a fan oven, hob & extractor fan, under-counter fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The dining table, set for up to 6 guests, becomes a focal point of shared moments. Beautiful Bantham beach is lovingly described as a tiny jewel along this stretch of stunning coastline. The sapphire blue sea and golden sands make this an unforgettable holiday destination. The waves attract surfers from all around the world but if you prefer a more relaxing stint on the water, Bantham Surf Academy will helpfully provide you with paddleboards, kayaks, wetsuits and all the information you need. Instructors are available to take you out in groups or one-one sessions if you fancy some extra tuition.

Just minutes from here is the pretty harbour, where you can while away the hours crabbing, sailing or just watching the boats go by.
The Gastrobuses are a regular summer feature on the beach. Gourmet burgers, Devon ice-cream and amazing sandwiches are readily available all through the summer. Throw in some regular pizza nights with some live music and you’ve got yourself the perfect evening.

If walking is more your thing, The South West Coast Path runs right past Bantham – A ferry is available to take you across the River Avon (Not available all year round) and nature lovers may just glimpse Kingfishers, Housemartins and Guillemots in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Look towards the shoreline and occasionally they’ll be a shy seal or even a playful dolphin among the rocks.

The village itself is host to a fantastic pub/restaurant – The Sloop Inn. Here you can find delicious freshly cooked meals, an ever-changing selection of creative daily specials using some of the freshest fish, meat and game and the finest local produce Devon has to offer. Head up to the village shop which stocks a great range of groceries, newspapers, freshly baked bread and pastries, as well as all your holiday essential including wetsuits, bodyboards and buckets & spades. Its beautiful terrace cafe produces a spectacular Devon Cream Tea which you can sample whilst overlooking the estuary and debating the age-old question; Jam or Cream first ?

If you want to venture further afield, Kingsbridge and Salcombe are only a few miles away and the historic ancient town of Totnes just slightly further.
Woodlands Adventure Theme Park, South Devon Chilli Farm, Pennywell Farm and Kent’s Cavern are all nearby days out, particularly good for little ones. Beautiful area and beautiful accommodation
During our recent visit to the UK, we had the pleasure of staying in a charming countryside cottage that exceeded all our expectations. the cottage was a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the serene surroundings—the lush greenery, the gentle hum of nature The cottage itself was beautifully appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The living room, with its cozy fireplace and comfortable seating, quickly became our favorite spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to enjoy homemade meals, and the dining area offered a delightful view of the garden, where we spent several mornings sipping tea. One of the highlights was the master bedroom, which featured a comfortable bed draped in soft linens. What made our stay truly special, however, was the warmth and hospitality of our hosts. They provided us with a welcome bottle of wine. Their recommendations for local walks and nearby attractions helped us discover some hidden gems, from quaint tea rooms to stunning nature trails. The location was ideal—peaceful and secluded. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a serene and idyllic retreat.

The barn is very well laid out, very clean. You definitely need a car to get about. The only problem i had was only 1 bed was made up, i went with a friend that i didn't want to share a bed with.

The Coach House
We really enjoyed our stay here. The property is as listed and in great condition with comfortable beds and all kitchen amenities. We didn’t need to contact the owners as the key safe system works very well and we had no issues during our stay. Lots to do in the area and the local beach is lovely. The information book could do with being updated as prices have changed for car parks etc.

Great week away at The Coach house
Our family had a wonderful week away at The Coach house. A lovely quaint cottage with all the necessaries for a family-of- 5 stay - even a single bathroom didn't pose any problems. Modern and contemporary, comfortable and clean with lots of cozy cottage charm. Quiet too considering there are a few other cottages dotted about. We were blessed with amazing weather but I think you'd be pretty covered if you stayed when the conditions were foul. We wanted a beach holiday and not a city / touristy holiday and we certainly got it. Beaches are roughly 10 minutes in each direction and Kingsbridge 20 so quite centrally located even though you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Narrow single lane down to the cottage that caught us off guard the first time but once you are driving like a local it's no big deal. Davids communication was punctual, helpful and spot on. A place I'd definitely recommend.

A very comfortable property in a secluded location
Tucked away in the country approx 2kms from Bantham and its stunning beach. Many other beaches within a short distance. A great base for outdoor activities. And if the English weather gets in the way Totnes, Exeter and Plymouth are easily reachable. decent pubs and plenty of freshly caught fish...and of course Devon cream teas

A lovely week helped by the weather. Well presented property, plenty of space. Additional trays for the oven would be beneficial and a draining board. The road to bantham very busy and sometimes slow to get back. This did not really bother us and cannot be helped. 5 out of 5 rating . Visited everywhere we wanted due to excellent location.

Could not fault a thing, clean, all you need included, could do with an extra toilet when it’s for adults staying but we managed. Other than the really narrow roads (which can’t be helped) it was great

The Coachhouse - August 2022
A really lovely and charming cottage style holiday home set in a quiet and secluded valley. We found the Coachhouse to be the perfect base for us to explore the region from, and whilst it's set down in valley, it was bright and airy, well apportioned and big enough for our needs. The owners were super helpful throughout, helping us with both pre-holiday questions and anything we needed to know during our stay. You do need a car to travel to Bantham beach as the road is very narrow and busy, but we found we spent whole days down there, so needed it to transport all of the beach gear anyway! We would thoroughly recommend the property to families and couples who want a place that is a little more peaceful, but able to get to the great places in the region you want to go to.

Outstanding barn conversion
We could not fault the Coach House. Great communication with the host, a smooth check-in, excellent location and very clean. The layout of the living room is very cosy and the outside space is a bonus in good weather. Bantham village and Bantham Beach are within a reasonable walking distance or a very short drive away. Very much hoping to book again in future.

Another lovely stay
We love this property. Always spotlessly clean and we appreciated very much the renovations which have been undertaken since our last stay (a new bathroom fit-out and new living room carpet). Nothing is 'tired' as is so often the case with holiday cottages. We will be back!
