Quiet hours quiet hours are 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. 7-days a week. Noise carries easier and further in high elevations or overwater. Per the ordinance no sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise should be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance disturbance or nuisance to Neighbors.
Lights out all exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. 7-days a week. Per the ordinance all exterior lights that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use must be turned off to the extent that such other outdoor use is not unreasonable nuisance to Neighbors
Red flag warnings due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during red flag warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of red flag warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.
Winter driving many highways access roads and or driveways are steep in Tahoe and Truckee and maybe icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st to April 30th breaks, windshield wipers, defroster, heat and exhaust systems are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle. Make sure your chains are the proper size for your tires and they're in working order. You may find valuable winter driving tips from the California Highway Patrol.
Summer patio furniture is available for the use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and lounges are put into storage in the fall in order to protect the Furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.
Be Bear Aware Black Bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because Bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter Bears during your spring/summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant proper damage to home and to vehicles.
