This wonderful get-away in the Outer Banks is conveniently located just a short walk (300 feet) from the beach. It is in the heart of Kill Devil Hills (milepost 9) which is also the home of the Wright Brother's Monument. It is only a short drive from Jockey's Ridge and the Outlets, as well as walking distance from multiple restaurants, surf shops and quaint stores.

Barefootin' is a two level duplex . Each level has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms as well as a queen size sleeper sofa in the family room, fully equipped eat in kitchen and washer/dryer. It is equipped with a total of 6 televisions, three DVD players, DVD library, game system, games and puzzles. A gas grill, corn hole boards, outdoor table and chairs, beach chairs, baby pool and sand toys are also available for your convenience. An advantage of renting Barefootin' is that the units can easily accommodate two or more families. It is also one of the few homes that can be rented for less than a week (3 night minimum). Also, linens for the beds and towels are complimentary with the rental.(We do not provide beach towels, however.)

This is the ideal choice for 2-4 families vacationing together. It allows privacy but in close proximity to each other. The lower level has beautiful tile floors with throw rugs in each room for comfort. It is decorated with a 'beachy' flare. The den has a comfortable couch (pull out queen sofa sleeper) and loveseat with a large television with DVD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a table that seats 6 and everything you should need including a coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender and microwave. The master bedroom is very large with a king size bed, plenty of room for a pack n play, television and private bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the third has a pyramid bunk bed (twin on top & full on bottom bunk ) with a television. Outside there is a nice patio to enjoy the ocean breezes on. In the rear of the house there are tables and chairs on both levels, an outdoor shower, corn hole boards, colorful chairs on the front deck as well as a swing on the front of the house!

The upper level has carpet in the bedrooms only.. It has a roomy den with two sofas (one is a queen sleeper sofa), a flat screen television set, DVD player and game system. The den opens into a fully equipped kitchen including coffee maker, Keurig, toaster, blender, microwave and a large table that seats 8-10 people comfortably. The master bedroom has a king size bed, room for a pack n play, television, dvd player and a private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a TV and the third bedroom has a pyramid bunk bed (twin on top & full on bottom bunk). There are balconies on the front as well as the back with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy.

Barefootin' is a reasonably priced convenient getaway!!

This property worked perfect for us, it gave each family their own privacy with multiple bedrooms but also plenty of space inside and out to come together. Very clean with plenty of included amenities. Homeowner was very responsive and accommodating!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Barefootin. We rented both floors and had ample room for 3 couples, plus a child and a single lady. Found a nice welcome upon arrival. Very comfortable stay and would definitely rent again.

Great Place & Close to the Beach
This was a great place to stay. As noted, there are 2 units, one is upstairs, the other downstairs. We came with two families and it was perfect. We had plenty of showers for everyone. The kids (ages 6-13) loved the selection of board games. We loved how close it is to the beach. We were able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and the post office without a problem. I recommend staying here if you want to be close to everything, including the beach.

Family vacation
We do a big family vacation every couple of years. It’s multiple families coming together from different places. Ages from 5 to 79 this year. The house worked out well for us. We had fun time. The closeness to the beach was great. Someone was on the beach everyday. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

The property was fairly clean. My husband fixed the dish washer that was leaking and vacuumed the air filter that was caked with dirt.(I know had we called the owner he would have been on top of it) Overall it was a great place to stay! Everything was walking distance and the beach was awesome! It was great having a yard for the kids to play in. We really had a great time.

Overall, our trip was a blast. House was big enough to accommodate all of us with plenty of space. Close to popular attractions and the ocean. The brooms to clean the floors could use a replacement. It might can benefit from a deep cleaning and organization of the games. The checkout process was easy to follow.

We had a great experience and time in OBX. Easy check in and out! Everything was nice, most kitchen appliances you need was on hand. There was some bugs, we had a few in a group that wasn’t pleased with that, but I did contact the owner and they said they would send someone out. We didn’t understand that the top floor did not connect but it worked out. Over all a great time and everyone loved the corn hole game

My heart is in OBX
My family and I love this rental and will be staying here each time we visit. This was our first visit to OBX but definitely not the last. The owner is very helpful and the rental was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. Our adult children and grandchildren (8-18) loved going to the beach several times a day - only 300 feet away. Located near several restaurants, grocery stores and shopping for convenience and ease. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the beach and soak up the sun this is a wonderful place to stay. As my granddaughters say 'my heart is in OBX'. Great location!
This is a condo with two separate units, and the two units do not attach from the inside. Our group didn't have any issues with that, it was easy to access both units from the outside, provided two kitchens/living spaces and created more privacy for our group. We had 11 adults stay (4 couples and 3 individuals) and it was a great fit. The location was definitely the high point— just a few minute walk from the beach and lots of restaurants within walking distance too. The host was very responsive and nice. The only negative was that there wasn't any internet connection or Wifi during our 2-night stay, but luckily we had enough fun without it!

Practically Perfect
We are so pleased with this rental. Everything was great. The location was close to the beach and plenty of restaurants and even a cvs if you need any last minute items. The rental was very nicely decorated and updated. We use VRBO all the time but This is our first stay we truly felt at home. They had everything we could possibly need. The kids loved all the board games, I loved that we were close to everything and the place was clean and well stocked with kid friendly cups. My only complaint was the beds are kind of creaky loud and I didn’t trust my kids on the top bunk as there was not enough of a rail guard. But everyone still slept comfortably and we would definitely love to come back again.

Nice place to stay
This was a nice place to stay and close to everything. Place was pretty clean. There was a huge storm and some of the doors were leaking due to heavy wind and rain. The only thing that was annoying was we arrived at 430 (2 hours after we were allowed to check in) and the cleaning person didn't know we had a reservation. She was still cleaning and we didn't get to check in until 6pm. That was VERY inconvenient especially being we drove 4 hours, had kids with us and there was a huge storm. I contacted the owner and got a 'sorry'. Didn't think that was enough being we lost time in the rental, but it is what it is. I would have been extremely upset if we arrived at 230 and had to wait! Overall a nice place to stay, just make sure you triple check your reservation and make sure the cleaning people know you are coming.

This is a tough one to title. ☹️
Overall, it was a nice property. Sadly, the home was not checked before we checked in and it was FULL of dead flies. The only saving grace, was that the host gave me a quick response and had cleaners out there within the hour. We know it was some sort of strange occurrence, but if the house had had a walk through the day before, it could have been addressed prior to our arrival. 😔

Amazing Stay
This was one of my favorite vacations. The host is very responsive and the house was beautiful. The short walk to the beach was so nice and I felt very safe. There is also a little restaurant/bar on the direct corner that’s very nice and my son said the fish tacos were the best he’s ever had. I highly recommend this house for your stay.

Week Stay with Young Kids
Rooms were nice and clean, the bunk bed room had space for a pack and play for our one year old to sleep in so that was a big plus. The closest public beach access is really close but only stairs for beach access, so be ready to carry any beach wagons. Luckily the other beach accesses up the road both are both stairs and walkouts. Definitely looking forward to staying here again in the future.

In the heart of it all
Overall our large blended family had a great time staying here. It accommodated us all quite nicely and despite hurricane Debbie trying to dampen our spirits, we made the most of our time due to everything being so close (walkable and driveable). The beach was right across the street which was a huge win and we spent as much time as possible there during the day soaking up what sun we could and at night checking for ghost crabs and sea turtles. We enjoyed some family card nights and game time around the upstairs kitchen table and the kids enjoyed putting puzzles together. The beds were all very comfortable and allowed for some rejuvenating for the next day. The few little hiccups we had were quickly addressed and the hosts were incredibly accommodating and helpful.
