This spacious vacation rental consists of five separate homes, an original 100-year-old Conch cottage, and four considerable efficiencies, all sharing a large, palm-covered outdoor gathering area, heated swimming pool, and large sundeck. Everyone can enjoy one another's company in this unique deluxe guesthouse property that was newly furnished in 2022.

Located in a great neighborhood, this big, secluded compound is just a one-block walk to Duval Street, considered the most popular Key West street! Duval is your best bet for fantastic restaurants, fun nightspots, and year-round events, including parades and festivals. This home is only five blocks to the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, a must-see for fans of the late, great author, three blocks from the Southern Most Point, and 10 blocks from Higgs Beach. The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory is four blocks away, and the historic Key West Lighthouse is five blocks away. Plus, you'll be within walking distance of many great restaurants - the Walk Score is 97 out of 100!

Papa's Hideaway private getaway property comprises five vacation rentals: Torrents of Spring, Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Islands in the Stream, and Garden of Eden. The whole property is wired with super high-speed WiFi and cable TV for home entertainment on rainy days.

Bday Bonanza
The online pictures do not do this property justice. The property is gorgeous. We had 16 travelers from all over and it was perfect. It is close to activities, restaurants, bars. The southern most point is literally a stones throw away. Duval street is a couple blocks out. You can walk it or take a short Uber ride to the heart of it. We had an amazing time, mad life long memories and will be coming back again!

Senior graduation trip
We had 8 adults and 8 teenage boys. The set up of Papa’s Hideaway was perfect for us. The boys stayed in the main house and the 4 adult couples all had our own cottage. The pool was great and so much fun. Having the grill to cook our fresh caught mahi was a plus! The houses were clean and VACASA provided excellent service. Highly recommend this place.

Perfect for groups
Ten friends went to warmer weather to de-stress from Christmas. The layout was perfect and situated on a dead end street. The pool in the courtyard was an extra bonus. The courtyard was lit up at night, providing the most reaxing vibe. We will be booking it again in the future. Thanks Vacasa!

Awesome property

Great location! Great accommodations!
I visited Papa’s with girlfriends and it was the perfect island gem! The main cottage was great for morning coffees on the back deck and the shaded pool was great for afternoon beverages and a cool swim after a hot day. The apartments were high quality and equipped with everything you need for a restful vacation! Highly recommend!!

Great Group Stay

Papa's Hideaway: A Great Place to Stay
We booked the entire Papa's Hideaway complex for a four-day family holiday. Yes, there were some minor issues with this location such as late notification that the swimming pool was off limits, one of the refrigerators would freeze food rather than merely keep it cold and a couple of the TVs did not work. The staff was very accommodating to our concerns and willing worked with us to make this a memorable stay for the entire family. The location was excellent, staff helpful and cooperative and facilities good (not great... because some ongoing repairs are needed). Overall, our family enjoyed our stay at Papa's Hideaway and recommend this facility for those planning a visit to Key West!

Unprofessional conduct
We booked the property for the soul purpose that it had a pool. We booked our stay over four months in advance. 15 people from all over the country flew and, but one hour before check in I was notified that the pool was under maintenance and would not be ready for our group. I was told on the phone that this was a surprise to the property manager who had hoped the pool would be ready for our stay. When we checked in the pool was an absolute wreck. For them to be surprised that the pool wasn't ready and only give us a one hour heads up on the phone is inexcusable. I feel that they did not want to give us a longer heads up, because then they would lose money if we had a realistic chance at rebooking a different property. Veronica from the property management company was nice over the phone and it did seem like she was genuinely sorry for the inconvenience, but the compensation offered was short of what I believe to be a reasonable. I tried to negotiate a more fair deal but was told that I accept their compensation or we get refunded and find new housing for the weekend. This would be an impossible task for our 15 guest party who had just flown in from all over the country. As if this was not enough the continued pool maintenance while we stayed their. Someone came over at 8am with to Jackhammer the lining of the pool , which we asked him to leave because most of our party was sleeping. Loud work was performed on the pool for several hours during two days of our stay. It appears that had been some other recent innovations because lining the street just outside of our gate was old furniture which was stacked up for the purpose of disposal (im assuming). It remained their throughout our stay and attracted unwanted attention as locals showed up to the property to sort through the couch cushions etc to see what could of been salvaged.

Merry Christmas at Papa’s Hideaway
It was wonderful to be in Key West with 15 of our family ranging in age from 2-80. Accommodations at Papas Hideaway afforded privacy as well as opportunities to be together. With Covid, we spent ad much time around the pool as possible. Units were well supplied and comfortable. Perfect location on Louisa Street, one block off Duvall on a dead end street.

The property was generally very nice. The location is good and the various units are great. However, apparently the property is used to store vacasa cleaning supplies. Accordingly, people would enter the property unannounced at random times to get supplies for other properties. Renters should be informed about this beforehand. Would definitely rent again.

Beautiful and convenient location
We loved staying at Papa’s Hideaway! Beautiful, so convenient to all activities of the city and within walking distance. Only slight issue was being so dark at night since night pool and patio lights did not turn on till 10:30 pm, and they never fixed it even after asking multiple times. Also one Suggestion is to send out LOCAL phone number for Vacasa to person renting. Could be in the welcome email with codes. All we had were 800#’s. Either way we would recommend to stay there again for a large group like our of 12. ☀️🌴🐓🦎

Our group enjoyed this retreat so much we had to come back and do it again. The staff at Vacasa were great letting us store our luggage while they continued getting the place ready for us. The cleaning was immaculate and we can't say enough great things about Papa's Hideaway. We enjoyed lounging in the pool after walking around checking out all of the sights. We can't wait to come back!

Key West Bachelorette Oasis
This tropical compound was the perfect location for a bachelorette party! We had 12 girls and each girl got her own bed/pullout. The main cottage and 4 guest cottages were incredible and there was plenty of parking! It was so nice to have our own private outdoor space to come together, but also to have the ability to retreat to private rooms to rest. The only annoying thing was that management was lurking around doing "projects" while we were there. One lady was there for almost two hours and kept going into the house while we were all hanging in the pool to install cable. There was also a guy painting the fence for a couple of hours and the pool guy came in every day. It almost seemed like we were being checked up on which was super obnoxious since it was a low key weekend. Hopefully it was just maintenance weekend and you won't experience that because it was paradise otherwise!
