Very well equipped comfortable cottage
Very impressed for once online photos did the property justice in fact in reality the place was larger than expected. The large open hallway with staircase was a nice surprise on entering the property. Very comfortable cottage , the beds and pillows provide a good nights sleep. Excellent kitchen facilities and well equipped. Good to have the option of the firestick on the TV.

A truly excellent cottage.
A truly excellent cottage. The photos don't do the size of the place justice. I was incredibly impressed on walking in. The nearby pub, the Horse and Farrier serves excellent food, great beer and has a very hospitable landlord. The cottage itself has all the amenities possible to facilitate a thoroughly enjoyable stay in the lakes, with two bathrooms and three generously sized rooms. If I was looking to stay for a week in he lakes again, I would definitely put this place at the top of my list.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage.
Well equipped, comfortable cottage. The rooms and storage space were exceptionally large. The views of Blencathra from the kitchen and dining room were fantastic. Loved the outside seating area with views also. Lots of local information and maps were provided for loan with DVD's if needed . We were very fortunate with the weather so we did not need them. The Horse and Farrier is just 5 minutes walk away and well worth a visit. We found it a little difficult to find the road despite really good instructions. This was because we did not expect the entrance to be quite so narrow. It literally is the first entrance on the right on Blease Road. Other than that a really, really good place to stay.

Excellent location.
Excellent location. Delightful views of Blencathra in particular. Very comfortable cottage, roomy and huge storage space in all rooms. Well equipped. Generally quiet location during school hours, but sometimes not so quiet when local children at home, though not a big problem. Easy access to good pub and coffee shop. Easy access to A66 for Keswick/Penrith. Noise from A66 only slight. Easy walks available from the door and, of course, Blencathra beckons ! Personally, found the beds upstairs to be quite firm. Also, need care getting out of the driveway due to possibility of catching the front spoiler due to the steep slope (ordinary car - VW Golf). Gas fire took rather longer than the suggested 14 seconds to start. Getting into and out of the bath upstairs to use the shower was difficult for my wife who is not tall. The shower screen was rather obstructive too. A step stool and folding shower screen would help greatly. No problem downstairs. Would certainly return due to excellent location and comfort.
