A large spiral stone steps lead to the first floor veranda, looking out across the River Derwent to the stunning skyline of Latrigg and Skiddaw and the world famous former Cumberland Pencil Mill. The front door opens to the bright, airy and spacious open plan living area. This incredible space is quite unique with its high vaulted ceiling with impressive wooden beams. Comfortable sofas and armchairs are arranged around the feature fireplace with gas stove. A couple of step lead to the elevated, bespoke, fitted kitchen, that overlooks the living area with range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. To the side the large family dining table is set into the bay window, with views over the lower roof to the northern fells.

Choose from one of three welcoming bedrooms all with their own Smart TV. To the front is the spacious dual aspect master bedroom with superking bed and views to Skiddaw. A further double bedroom with king bed and a twin bedroom are situated further to the rear of the property. The bedrooms are complemented by a feature bathroom with an elegant rolltop bath where you can relax after a day on the fells and enjoy the view to the hills beyond, a large walk in shower cubicle, basing and WC. Off the landing is a smart shower room with shower cubicle, basin and WC.

This stunning apartment has high vaulted ceilings, beautiful picture windows, an immense amount of character and offers very high quality accommodation just a few minutes walk from Keswick’s bustling market square, with it’s wonderful selection of local shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.

With easy access to walks of all standards, from gentle low level walks beside the river, or following the old railway line across the valley, to the high level walks to Skiddaw or the towering peaks of the north Lakes, excitement on two wheels on the tracks through Whinlatter Forst or waterborne adventures on Derwentwater, Greta Howe offers first class accommodation for friends or families whatever the time of year.

Great location
Great location close to all the amities in Keswick, good parking, beginning to need some TLC in places but we would come back if we need a larger apartment in the future.

Loved it!!
Much bigger than it looked in photos, this was the best place we have stayed in Keswick! We stayed here while working at the Mountain Festival but can't wait to come back again with the family for a non working holiday. The accommodation had so much space, we loved staying here and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Keswick.

Lovely stay in Greta Howe
We had a great stay in this holiday home. The location was great - quiet, plenty of parking available and a short walk into town. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. The shower in the main bathroom was incredible! Would recommend without hesitation.

Excellent Location
Better information needed regarding parking. Noisy plumbing. Showers seems to be limited one only at once. Good size family room and eating area. TV in all rooms.

Comfortable property with open plan living
The property is ideally located for walks from the door but also trips to pub on an evening. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and two good bathrooms with showers. The open plan living space has lots of room for large families. Lots of space for parking.

Wow! What a beautiful surprise!
We had an amazing stay at Greta Howe, the space is enormous but so cozy and unique, full of charm and all modernised. We loved the space! The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a luxury. Communication was easy for all our stay and we were welcomed by a bottle of fizz and biscuits. We had a couple of rainy days so we enjoyed the space and cooked in the bespoke kitchen. We had a great time and we would love to come back soon, thank you so much for having us on such a short notice!

Perfect getaway accommodation
This is our second stay in Greta Howe. We have stayed in Keswick many times and this has become our favourite accommodation. Everything about it is excellent. We love the quirky interior and the history of the place. The layout really works, it’s cosy and comfortable. Everything you need is provided. The location is ideal.

Perfect
A wonderful, spacious clean property in a perfect location for local shops etc. The only thing that would be useful is clearer info about what to do when leaving I.e. do we strip beds.

Really lovely place
The flat was really stunning - very different, and everything was excellent quality. Great location if you want to be in the centre but with views - quite a rare thing especially given the cost. There is a lot of history as it was 'Keswick School of Industrial Art" and if you google that you get an excellent photo of what the room looked like 100 years ago.

Great property and location
Great property to stay in and lovely views of the hills. Very comfortable and spacious with everything you need. I had brought some "extras" - like hairdryer and kitchen equipment going by previous reviews but didn't need to as owners had obviously read and responded to previous comments. We are regular visitors to Keswick so knew location (2 min walk to start of shops etc) - which was perfect as other family were with us. The grandkids loved going down to mess about at the river - supervised of course! The cafe below was currently closed so had place to ourselves. Could do with some better seating on the balcony (we brought some ourselves). Highly recommend this property. Would visit it again.

Great Property
We had a lovely stay in this holiday property. It was very spacious, had great facilities, and having the town within a few minutes walking distance was perfect. It would have been helpful to have some instructions on how to use the gas fire, as that wasn't included on the tablet. Also, when we arrived, I think the heating had only just been turned on as it was quite chilly and took a while to heat up as the room is very large. I would definitely book again if we were in this area.

Lovely apartment, needs much better maintenance. It is NOT a cheap option.
We had issues with cooker - resolved - shower which was partly resolved, and a general lack of maintenance. There were no oven trays and a poor selection of saucepans. Wallpaper was falling from the small bathroom ceiling and was re-stuck with sellotape.!! The shower head was broken resulting in water spurting all over the bathroom floor and the shower door would not close. Despite these considerable problems which really should have been spotted and resolved before we arrived, we enjoyed our stay in this historic building. It was annoying to be told by Keswick cottages staff that the owner was responsible for maintenance and then to be told by the owner that it was the job of Keswick cottages. Also if there is an inventory, where is it? It is a shame that these problems nearly spoiled a much anticipated break.
