Library View Apartment - Grade II Listed town centre apartment with parking

Library View Apartment is a stylish Grade II-listed, two-bedroom, self-catering apartment in Kendal's town centre that has been furnished to a very high standard. Situated on the second floor of one of Kendal's oldest buildings, you will delight at the retained character of the building, including the original beams, wonky walls and ceilings!

The magnificent building on Blackhall Yard dates back to 1575 when it was used as the residence for Kendal's first Alderman, who functioned as a Mayor, although the term "Mayor" wasn't to be used since Kendal had not yet received its Market Charter. The building was also used as a brush marking factory until 1945, when it became a grocery shop. The Bristly Hog statue figure on the exterior wall was erected during this time and has remained ever since.

The gorgeous apartment is situated on the second floor of the building, above the fantastic Bristly Hog Coffee Shop, making it an ideal self-catering apartment in the centre of Kendal.

While mentioning the Bristly Hog Coffee Shop downstairs, we highly recommend visiting, whether for a coffee or something to eat. They offer a superb full breakfast menu Monday to Saturday, 9:00 - 16:30, as well as a number of other dishes! For evening meals, try one of the many restaurants in the Town.

Library View Apartment will provide an ideal base for couples or families and business travellers to the area. A parking permit allows you to park one car for free in the car park across the road.

Beautiful apartment in good location
The apartment was just as advertised. Very clean and well equipped. In a great location and the cafe underneath was lovely. Our trip was cut short due to an emergency family issue but we will be rebooking soon and can’t wait to visit again.

Spacious, well equipped and well situated
The apartment is conveniently situated near the centre of Kendal with plenty of shops and restaurants near by. It was clean and well presented even as an historic building. The kitchen was well equipped and we all enjoyed our stay very much.

Perfect for a stay by the Lakes
We booked pretty late and could only get 3 nights and having stayed it is no surprise that they were booked for the whole of August. A lovely apartment which had all the character of a period property but is equipped with all the mod cons and decorated really well. We all loved this stay and were grateful for such a lovely place to stay after days out in the hills and around the lakes. Absolutely spotless and with everything we needed over our stay. We enjoyed the breakfast in the cafe downstairs each morning which was delicious and set us up for our days out. Absolutely recommended staying here and when we return to this area will definitely be looking to book again.
