"Nice place"

"Very clean hotel. The building almost feels more like a small university dorm than a traditional business hotel. The staff doesn't speak much English, so make sure you have at least a rudimentary level of Japanese or a translation device if you're staying here, but they are very helpful and friendly. Of note, there are no elevators or escalators in this hotel, so you need to carry your luggage up the stairs if you're staying on the second floor. If you have mobility issues, I would recommend requesting a room on the first floor. The hotel is located in a fairly quiet area of Odate. Odate Station is within walking distance, but it's a bit of a hike (about 15-20 minutes, depending on how fast you go). The hotel is located near train tracks and the sound-proofing isn't great, so you will hear both trains outside and any neighbours you may have - the trains are infrequent and don't run past about midnight, but if you wind up with a neighbour who makes noise (even if it's just snoring), you will definitely be aware of it. Odate Station has regular trains running to Hirosaki and Aomori City in Aomori, as well as Akita City in Akita, so the hotel works great for getting to those areas. The hotel is located next to an onsen and an overnight stay comes with a free voucher. I didn't get a chance to use mine, but it was a nice bonus. Overall, I found the hotel to be a very relaxing stay and a good spot to use to explore nearby Akita and Aomori. Would happily recommend!"

"Hostel was not at the location provided in listing but 1.1 km away from the lake. Self-check in was fin but hostel was run down with many lights not working, cobwebs in hallways. Rooms were booked with private bathrooms but there was no private bathrooms. Bathrooms were communal and there was no shower just sinks with buckets. Sheets were clean but rooms had broken a/c, smelled of fumigation but there were still bugs, broken drawers and lights. It was the worst hostel I have stayed in. We booked three rooms across two reservations and one rooms was so bad that two people ended up sleeping in one room. Said there was free breakfast but it was only toast and coffee/tea. Do not recommend!"

"30 minute walk from station or 10 minutes bus ride with 5 minutes walk or quick or affordable taxi. Onsen was great. Lots of amenities. Park with cherry blossoms, convenience store, and restaurants within walking distance. Beds are comfortable. Overall, a great stay. Thank you!"

"The hotel has ample parking and the staff are very friendly. The only drawback is that the bathroom is very small. However, it is a very nice place to stay and the price is very reasonable. "

"Close to a JR station and walkable to the main Odate station, close to a bus stop and the desk is helpful to call a Taxi if that is what you are after instead. Close to the Akita Museum and places to eat, about a 4-5 minute walk to the nearby Lawson's as well as about a 10-15minute walk to the mall which has a big shop for food and drinks as well as a Daiso. Peaceful area, beautiful views of nature and the mountains that surround Odate. I just wish there had been an outlet next to the bed but honestly for an overnight that's all I can say for a negative. Staff was very nice, and did speak English."
