Welcome to Hale Makai, our luxury beach home located on the beautiful and sunny west side of Kaua'i. We offer a host of amenities and a picturesque location for a relaxing and unforgettable vacation experience.

Take your pick of comfortable seating in the spacious living room, on the screened lanai or on the deck in the front yard - all perfect for lounging, enjoying a good book or soaking up the island vibes. Adjacent to the living room is the gourmet kitchen, stocked with a variety of appliances and cooking utensils. Whether you are an experienced chef or just enjoy whipping up a quick meal, this kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious meals and snacks.

Hale Makai features two spacious bedrooms. The primary suite boasts a king-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The other bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and ample storage space. All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans, ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Our bathrooms are stocked with basic shampoo, conditioner, and soap for your convenience.

One of the standout features of Hale Makai is the private hot tub. Whether you want to soak in the warm water after a day of exploring the island or simply relax and take in the beautiful scenery, the hot tub is the perfect place to unwind.

Hale Makai also offers a full-service indoor laundry room, complete with a washer and dryer, as well as a range of cleaning supplies and equipment.

Hale Makai Vacation
Loved the stay - great house - super comfortable! Only down side is the distance from everything (grocery stores/reataurants) but it certainly isn’t the owners fault. Very quiet stay!!!

The accommodation was even better in person. A great cottage to share for traveling couples. The screened in lanai, your own backyard & hot tub were awesome. Having the beach towels, chairs, umbrella and cooler was so useful. The check in process was very easy and Chad & Liz were very helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect beach bungalow!
My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The house was exceptionally clean upon arrival and check in was smooth. The hot tub was a great bonus and the house was stocked perfectly with all the essentials- including plenty of beach gear! Would definitely stay again!

The Little Blue Cottage
The property was fantastic. My wife and I stayed for a month and had a great time. Liz and Chad were the perfect hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Perfect location if you plan on doing a lot of hiking in Waimea Canyon and Koke'e State Park. Make sure to check out Kalaheo Cafe and JP's Pizza. Go Niners!!!

We loved our stay at Hale Makai! The house was impeccably clean and exactly as pictured in the listing. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, and the owner even provided towels and other supplies to take the the beach. We loved having a private hot tub and screened-in lanai. The location was ideal for our trip - it is in a residential area conveniently located near Waimea Canyon and great hiking. Would definitely recommend this home!

The cottage was welcoming and comfortable. Great Lanai to wake up to with a cup of coffee and end a day with a book on. Great kitchen (sharp knives), and beds! Liz and Chad were very warm and welcoming. They have everything you need for a memorable vacation on Kauai.

This beautifully appointed home made the perfect gateway to Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park. The home was spacious, comfortable and had nice options for dining indoors, on the lanai or in the pretty backyard. Chad came by to see that we had everything we needed. Mahalo.

Relaxing in Paradise!
This VRBO home is beautiful!! Perfect for a relaxing stay in paradise! House was spotless, beautifully decorated, and has all the appliances and cookware you will need. Location was perfect, with shopping a few miles away. The beach right across the street was great to walk too and watch the gorgeous sunsets! The yard was private and cozy, and the hot tub was an added plus! Liz and Chad were great hosts and attentive to any questions we had.

What a great spot!
We recently stayed at the Hale Makai for 4 nights. What a wonderful place! Everything was even better than described in the listing. Every detail to make your stay hassle free was thought of - from the beautiful decor to the well-appointed kitchen - it was great. We enjoyed relaxing on the lanai and soaking in the hot tub under the stars after long days hiking. Definitely "NO WORRIES" if you get a chance to stay here. Thanks for making our trip memorable!

West Kauai stay
Lovely home. Well appointed with full kitchen and accessories. Hot tub. Carport was nice for occasional rains. Isolated quiet beaches are close and easy to walk to. We enjoyed the screened in porch. Very close to Waimea Canyon if you're into hiking. It's a 30 minute drive to Poipu or Lihue, so keep that in mind. This was THE BEST VRBO we have ever stayed at. Beds were comfortable and nicely appointed furniture.

Great Rental
We have stayed at many vacation rentals (including at least six on Kauai), and this property is very nice. It was well outfitted--the kitchen had a wide array of tools and some staples (like coffee and mustard) that are not often included. And it was immaculate. I don't recall staying at any rental that seemed as clean. For four people, it is quite comfortable (we had only two and it felt big). You can walk to the beach in five minutes. The owners were very nice to deal with. It does not have an ocean view (not that anyone said it would), but that is really the only downside we saw.

Sunny comfortable home in Kekaha
Hale Makai was a wonderful home base for us while we explored the sunny side of Kauai. The home and kitchen are well furnished and comfortable to relax in. We like to cook on vacations and the kitchen had all the pots/pans/tinsels we could ever need. The home also included nice beach chairs, towels, and other beach accessories. The washer and dryer worked great. Grocery stores and restaurants in Waimea were a five minute drive away. Poipu beach was a 30 minute drive and the Kalalau Lookout in Kokee SP was a 45 minute drive. We would happily stay here again.

Waimea Canyon hiking house
House was a perfect fit for our plans to hike Waimea Canyon. House was well equipped with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for 4 adults to shower with. Only issue we had was getting into the house because the battery on the door key pad was low and it took many tries to get door to open. Called property manager who did not answer had to call VRBO who got the property manager to call us back. This took about 20 minutes before we could get into the house. I'm sure the batteries have been replaced and this is no longer an issue. I would stay here again and hope to in the future.
