NEW: Lakeside + Mountain Views, Stylish Home, 3.5kms to Remarkables Ski field

Nestled above Lake Wakatipu with private stairs down to the Lake's edge, this NEW listing is Five Star Guest-Reviewed Super Host Kaye Parker's own home. Kaye's Lakeside Retreat is luxuriously comfortable. Filled with art, books and all the creature comforts of home, together with personal design touches make it special. Absolutely everyone who walks through the front door is blown away by the stunning 180 degree views over the lake up to Coronet Peak ski field and the Crown mountain range. No photo can do the view justice. “The warmest, sunniest home in Queenstown in ANY season” is a comment made often by their guests. There are views over the lake and mountains from every room except the third bedroom which looks out onto the schist walled lawn, lavishly planted with white hydrangeas and roses.

The large open plan kitchen and dining lead to the living room which boasts a huge picture postcard window and runs the whole length of the room. Multiple sliding doors open to a large sun-filled deck from the dining and living areas The deck is replete with comfortable outdoor quality furniture. Facing West, it catches the last rays of the sun and you feel as though you are floating above the lake. The roaring wood burner, central heating and air conditioning with controls in every room keeps you toasty or cool depending on the season. This home is a gem.

The kitchen is well equipped and all Kaye's condiments are for your own use. Off the kitchen/dining room is a Utility room with an extra stove, pantry, freezer and washing machine and dryer. This room leads out to the beautiful schist walled lawn and flower filled garden.

The art-filled hallway leads to the main bathroom with walk in tiled shower. The Library has its own deck overlooking the lake. The sun hits early in the morning – the perfect spot for morning coffee or tea and offers shade in the evening. The Library has an additional TV and comfortable armchairs - great for teenagers or a second living room.

The Master bedroom has its own spacious wing at the end of the house. The Super King bed faces the beautiful lake and mountain views. The walk-in wardrobe leads to the Ensuite bathroom with spacious shower and standalone bath complete with chandelier.

The second bedroom off the hallway has THE most stunning lake and mountain views. The Queen French sleigh bed is so comfortable and looks over the amazing views from the wall of sliding windows giving 180 degree views. A large wardrobe and French antique chest of drawers completes the room.

The third bedroom has a top of the range King bed and overlooks the beautiful schist walled garden filled with white hydrangeas, roses and pretty green planting.

Three outdoor areas make this home evening more spectacular. The private hedge screened schist wall Courtyard has a bubbling spa pool/hot tub, outdoor seating and is beautifully planted with climbing and standard roses. The deck off the living room is the main wine o'clock space - again drinking in the views of the lake and mountains. And don't forget the deck off the Library, it gets the first sun in the morning and provides shade towards the end of the day.

The downstairs 3 car tandem garage is spacious and convenient for your suitcases and ski gear.

It is also the main pickup for the Water Taxi which takes you into downtown Queenstown with its 200+ cafes, restaurants and tourist activities. The bottom of the Remarkables Ski field is just 5 minutes drive up the road. Coronet Peak ski area is a 25 minute drive. At the end of the Peninsula is one of Queenstown's 5 International Golf Courses - the Queenstown Golf Club where the views are incredible. Amazing dream home with mountain and lake views
Our family fell in love at first sight with this beautiful, modern, well-decorated home on the lake near Queenstown, nestled amongst the mountains. There are floor-to-ceiling glass windows with unobstructed views of the snowcapped mountains, where we watched the sunrise every morning. The kitchen is modern and stocked with every convenience. We enjoyed a real wood-burning fireplace during the chilly nights. We sat outside to stargaze and couldn't believe how many brilliant stars we could see. There is a library with thoughtful, curated books. The beds were comfortable, with soft linens that helped us with our jetlag. Spacious closets were available so we could fully unpack. The bathrooms had lovely features like heated towel bars, a soaking tub, and spacious showers. The decor was impeccable - beautiful artwork, cozy blankets, lovely and comfortable furniture. It was like spending a week in our dream home! On top of that, Kaye - the owner, is a lovely and thoughtful individual, who made time to stop by and meet us, provided wine, nibbles, and chocolates, and made us feel so welcome in her beautiful home! Kaye provided wonderful recommendations for our stay ahead of time, and we made reservations ahead of our travel. This home has access to amazing walking trails and is also less than a 10-minute walk to the Hilton, where you can catch the ferry into Queenstown. We would love to come back and stay at this amazing home again! Book now - you will be grateful you did!

My home away from home
My husband and I spent 4 weeks in this devine house in February, it was so lovely, every comfort has been thought of, even comfy ottomans to put your weary legs on after a strenuous days activities. the house is exactly as described in a very quiet location, you can hear the ducks from the lake below. We often caught the water taxi from the Hilton Hotel into Queenstown which only took less than 10 minutes to walk to from the house. This house would be ideal in the colder months as it catches every scrap of sun from the east north and west, we had to put the air conditioner on on some days as it was so warm inside. We did have friends share for part of the month and the house accommodated us all easily, I think having the two sittings rooms allowed everyone to have their own private place if needed. We are definitely staying again next year.

Sunny and luxurious
We had a lovely few days with friends staying at this property. It was so warm and sunny we didn't want to leave but we tore ourselves away from the stunning views and walked along the lakeside track to Jacks Point for lunch. We played golf just 10 minutes away on the spectacular Kelvin Heights golf course. We even took the ferry from the Hilton across to the town for dinner - such fun! And of course skiing is right on your doorstep at the nearby Remarkables ski field. The amenities at this house are amazing - it is just like being at home but better! We finished off each day with a long soak in the spa pool. I would highly recommend this property for families or groups.
