"Listing was accurate, the place was clean and in a good location. Host warns you about it being in a tropical rainforest with bugs and they are not lying! Be prepared to see bugs. But be smart and don't leave food out or trash in the unit. Also check the fridge, I found a little cricket hanging out in the door shelf :). The place was nice and comfortable and I appreciated having access to beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels. Thanks for that. The mattresses on both inside beds are very soft so I didn't find them very comfortable. I would have liked a firmer mattress option to get better sleep. "

"This was our first visit to Maui and the highlight was driving the Road to Hana. Having done our research, we knew that this wasn’t something we’d want to rush. I approximated our drive over two days with sites to visit along the way (black sand beach, Lindbergh’s grave, rainbow eucalyptus trees, waterfalls, etc.) and determined that this property would be an excellent “half-way” place to stay. Upon booking, I received a friendly response from Terry providing detailed information about how to locate the property, where to stop to gather food for our stay, things to do in the area, etc. to aid in our planning. All instructions were super helpful.We arrived to the property around 6pm, finding that the gate had been left open for us. When we pulled up and honked our horn as instructed, we were greeted by sweet doggo, Star. Terry promptly greeted us and showed us around, pointing out some of the unique features of the property (outdoor shower, tankless water heater, etc.) Owners Terry and Michael have thoughtfully provided many items that could be useful to those traveling, including body boards, beach chairs, towels for use at the beach, etc. The accommodation itself was adequate for our needs- a comfortable bed, a hot shower, kitchen facilities, secure parking, wifi, and privacy. (Caution: mosquitoes and other pests are abundant. It’s the tropics.)Appreciate Terry and Michael’s hospitality. Hoping to tour their property and Michael’s art studio should we return some day. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we had booked this property for another night! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had all the necessary amenities that we needed to make dinner and breakfast, and the internet connection worked well. The space was large enough for the two of us and our luggage. The view from the porch was even better than what was in the photos! We really enjoyed the balcony space. The day bed was comfortable to sit on and watch the waves, and the table was a great place to watch the sunrise while eating breakfast.The only complaint we had was that the guests staying in one of the other units above us got quite loud while on their balcony. But they did quiet down before the 10 PM quiet hours.We highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in Hana!"

"Where else on Maui can you find a seven bedroom, seven bathroom private home that exists in a botanical garden? This place is an Upcountry Shangri-la, whether you’re working or playing. It mixes the utilitarian (see above about bedrooms/ bathrooms) with the Romantic: jaw dropping views, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, and a view to the night sky that would make an early explorer just as relaxed. I’ll bet there are two dozen interesting trees on the property: an epic Banyan tree, an avocado tree, citrus trees, and many more of the flowering variety I couldn’t identify. There’s a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, and a set of common areas that make you want to hang out. I was part of a crew that was filming on Haleakala. We needed a place up the mountain that would make our daily commute manageable. I highly recommend."

"Exceptional! Our host Elaine was an amazing host and checked in on us regularly throughout our stay. She went out of her way to make our check in process easier, even in the dark. Very thoughtful. The property was spotless, including the grill, which is rare. Great attention to detail. Location was perfect and Elaine suggested some beaches in the area. We loved the pool and enjoyed lots of time swimming and sunning in the spacious area. The deck off the back of the cottage was also a great space and gave us lots of room to spread out. Overall, outstanding! We will be back!"
