Great stay. Enjoyed the view and spacious setting of the house. A lot of activities for everyone to enjoy. We saw kangaroos and wombat so expect to be droppings on the grass area.
Would have love if they had grass area without any animal dropping so the kids can run around and play on the grass area
We celebrated our dad’s 90th birthday at Lake David and the whole family had a great weekend. The house and facilities are exactly like the photos and the available activities meet everyone’s needs from the more adventurous like kayaking or simply relaxing beside the pool or open fire. The kitchen is well equipped with 2 fridges, 2 cooktops with under bench ovens, and 2 dishwashers. A few minor maintenance issues such as sticky door handles, lamps missing light bulbs and no batteries in some TV remotes, but we’re already planning a return trip. Would highly recommend.
We had our dad’s 80th birthday celebration with all the family at Lake David (Thu-Sun) and it was just fantastic. We used all the facilities which made for a very fun & entertaining stay.
We had an issue with the WiFi (it was needed to watch the footy finals) and the agent got onto it & had it sorted in a few hours. Very impressed with how it was handled.
Highly recommended.
Amazing property and just massive, bigger than it even looks in the photos. There are a few things that really need to be updated when you are paying these though.Pool table has a rip in it and all but 1 cue is broken or not straight. The umbrellas, such an amazing outdoor area thats way to hot to sit, the "new" umbrellas dont fit into the stands, the new ones are ones you put into the ground so no good for this area. A shade sale over the massive sitting area at the back is definately needed. The couches in one of the lounges had rips in it and the floors are quite stained.Other than that it does have a rustic charm and we all loved it.So well laid out and facitlities for large groups could not be better.
Lake David is such an amazing property. We stayed over New Years and would absolutely stay again. The kitchen is super well equipped for big groups, there are a lot of bathrooms and the facilities (pool, Jacuzzi and tennis court) are all a delight to use.
It's a lovely property with lots of things to do. Interior is very large with space for everyone. We had 12 for the family gathering. There was all the kitchen e
this is a good property for large groups, with 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms so that everyone has their own space. The property is a bit remote but with the large grounds, pool, hot tub, tennis court and kayaks, there is plenty to do and we didn't leave the whole weekend! The agent was great communication.
Large house and great location to go with friends and partners to enjoy peace and quiet. Variety of activities, pool table, walks, kayaking, lots of separate places to relax and look at the lake, kangaroos, wombats or read. Pool was perfect temperature and had an outdoor setting for pre dinner nibbles and drinks. Kitchen well stocked. Thank you
We had a family celebration weekend at Lake David! There were 18 adults, and we were so happy with the property overall.....plenty of space, plenty to do or just to relax and take in the beautiful surrounds of this property....we could not fault it and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay at what we regard as one of the best properties we have stayed at....we hope to reyurn in the future :)
We rented this property for 3 nights. For a family of 18 people. It was the best 3 nights! The property view is spectacular. Enough space for everyone! Be mindful that the property is quite old so future is quite old. But overall was great. We woke up to view of kangaroos. The pool was great! Overall was great.
I would definitely stay here again - the place was great for our group of 7 adults and 9 kids. Plenty of kangaroos around, pool and tennis court were perfect and overall a fantastic place to stay.
Unfortunately the air-con in the south half of the home wasn't working on arrival, so half of us sweltered through a couple of nights. That said, communication with management was great, and they sent someone out to look at it quite quickly. The home would also benefit from a couple hundreds $ spent in Kmart to outfit the kitchen with appropriate glassware and utensils and maybe a few more kids board games etc. 4.5/5.
We loved it. Impromptu weekend away for 16 extended family members for a get together and made it a "Christmas in July". 3 generations 14 to 89 years. Easily accommodating our numbers and offering all that we wanted. Beautifully designed, generous and ample space with choices of where to sit and enjoy. We have been spoilt as it will be hard to find anything else as spectacular. Numerous compliments and suggestions of can "we stay longer' and "can we book again". Weather was very kind to us but the house was warm and cozy with the fire and heating. Made use of the hot tub, pool, tennis court, bush walking and snooker table. Facilities and size of the kitchen made catering a dream. This magnificent property exceeded all of our expectations.
This place is magical. We had an absolutely lovely 3 nights. The house exceeded expectations (even having seen the beautiful photos). It was obviously well maintained and had a "grand" feeling about it with the high ceilings and antique furniture. We didn't want to leave.
The only negative we found on our stay is that none of the outdoor umbrellas worked - they were all broken, so we had to find other ways to be in the shade on the hot days. Otherwise, simply stunning.
I would also say, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want to spend a lot of time away from the house and visit nearby towns - it's very secluded, so was perfect for us not to leave the house for the entire stay. Would definitely return.
We all loved the stunning location and the impressive house. There were a variety of activities which meant each age could choose their own preference, from piano playing, swimming, tennis to kayaking on the beautiful lake, plus a virtual library for the book lovers.
Suggestions for improvement:
* Cleanliness not up to scratch - fridges had to be cleaned properly and one bedsheet had dark marks on it (we have photos of the dirty bed and fridge if you would like to see them).
* There were 4 or 5 beach umbrellas in the games room but they were all broken. Should be thrown out.
There was no chalk for the cues in the games room.
* No shampoo or conditioner in any bathroom.
* A number of lamps were missing light bulbs, while other light bulbs were inoperative.
*The TV remote in the Master Bedroom didn't have any batteries.
*The pepper grinder was empty.
*There were no tissues at all in the house.
*A welcome basket with some local produce would be lovely.
*Some milk (even Long life) would be appreciated.
We had an absolutely lovely stay and would recommend it to everyone we know. These suggestions would have made it perfect.
