Nearby you can visit De Beaurepaire Winery, which is located on the limestone needed for the locally grown traditional french wine varieties on offer. Mudgee (famous for it's many wineries) is a 45min drive, and Bathurst and Lithgow just over one hour away.
Kandos is a perfect location for lovers of nature and wildlife - Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp is a 30min drive where you can immerse yourself in nature, enjoy bushwalking, or swim in the cool waters. Other local bush walks are aplenty, and the bike path to Historic Rylstone offers really enjoyable ride for a coffee or lunch in Kandos' 'sister' town.
