"Stayed in renovated room. Nothing exciting about the rooms. Drab bathrooms. Food not worth talking unfortunately (even the local food is boring) about but plentiful. No alcohol allowed on premises but smoking is allowed everywhere. Wifi only at reception area. Pool seems to have under repairs for sometime."

"As a family with children aged 10 and 12, we absolutely loved this resort. The pool was invaluable to be able to have time for ourselves to relax as well as the children. Buffet was great and the manager was amazing. Our children loved watching the baby reef sharks swimming next to the jetty out the front of the resort. Would highly recommend to both couples, individuals or families as they offer something for everyone. "

"Dirty hotel, the matress was very old and the room was very dirty. Seems that wasn't cleaned before the arrival. It's sad because it has the best spot on the beach. If the hotel changes and take care of the costumers it will be top but sadly, not now"

"Basic amenities. Rooms with too little space. Decent, could be cheaper."

"Arrived well before official checkin time. Room was ready. Although they tried to upsell their newer renovated rooms which were empty. They were nice but it wasn’t a free upgrade. Their initial remark was my booked room requires stairs climbing which I did not find an issue to begin with. The basic room was pretty much the same as the one I stayed in many years ago. Clean but ancient. There were kettle and fridge. Wifi never seemed to work but I never inquired further as I have my mobile data....

"Staffs are friendly and helpful and the hotel build is grand lavish. Point to the management, I stayed in 11th storey. there are birds nested on the ceiling around lift compound, and strong stench of pigeon manure detected. Despite I am there just for minutes waiting for lift to come, but this really turn me off. Mall beside hotel are under renovation and most shops are closed. "Wowza! This was one of the best 5 day asian island resort experiences we've had on our travels. The resort has gone through a full refurbishment in the last couple of years, so we were delighted to see that most of the negative feedback has been listened too and actioned. Do not hesitate to book. All the staff - reception, restaurant, cleaners, concierge, footmen and management - are so friendly, helpful and enjoy a sense of fun, whilst all being totally professional. "This is the perfect place to stay on the island if you don’t want to pay £300 a night or stay in a hostel/cheap chalet. We were in one of the blocks. Don’t let this put you off! The rooms are beautiful, clean and have everything you need. We booked 3 nights and ended up extending our stay by 3 more…we could have happily stayed even longer. Coral bay is great, a few bars and places to eat, shops, movie nights and cocktails and wine at Ombak and of course access to dive/snorkel and water...

"It was quite dissapointing that we were late for check-in, but there was not anyone from hotel staff that would have contacted us to keep in the touch. In fact, when we were about an hour journey to arrive at the hotel, the receptionist called to let us know that she'll be out of shift soon and will just leave the room key by the reception counter. I find this very rude as a customer to be treated this way. The hotel management itself should have a replacement staff for the shift changing time...

"Its a dead town..nothing special. No one goes to islands. Hotel is totally rundown. Bed, bath and room is bad. Room grown with spider web, lizards nest and ants nest. Have not seen cockroach yet. Reception is quite friendly though. Hotels.com info is absolutely outdated. Used to be a transit hotel for those going to/from the islands"

"Room is big but old. Toilet needs renovation as it look old, dirty and mold were everywhere. However, the plus point was the Front Desk staff. They were friendly and helpful, especially Hanis and her team who’s worked on 21/10/24 evening."

GOOD STAY AT KOTA BAHRU KELANTAN

"Updated - 15/10/2024 *Cons* Wifi quite slow and bad connection. We use mobile hotspot to connect to the sharp android tv to get the channel. However the staff did send staff to fix it and only can connect to the tv. Other smarrphone and laptop cant connect at all. You must use own mobilespot to do your work task. Master bedroom lock and toilet lock not working properly. Once lock, it quite difficult to unlock it back. Toilet not clean and quite slippery even the floor was dry. We need clean it before use at convenienced. *Pros* Cozy bedroom and mattress. Spacious and beautiful living area. Good utensils and kitchen appliances prepared. Really convenience for guest. Natural environment in-house and cozy furniture provided. Really gave feeling such in guest own house. Got additional service such washer machine and fridge for guest, really outstanding value added service by owner. Excellent👍"
