Room was cold as no heat was on. Took awhile to warm up. Trash on the parking lot. Front reception locked at 1400.
I booked this last motel last minute prior to reading the reviews. After I read the review's I became panicked about cleanliness and safety. But once there I saw it was just a normal budget friendly motel. Check in was easy as I already had a reso. Room
Was not terrible the bed was def smaller than a queen. The highway noise took a bit to drown out in order to fall asleep. I don’t think it was worth $117 it’s def a $89 motel it’s pretty dated but it did the trick for someone travelling with pets.
We booked the night in advance for $90 and had high hopes since we had just come from Motel 6 in Moosomin SK, which had been awarded the best guest experience and we really enjoyed our stay there. However, when we arrived to our room it was dirty and smelt like someone smoked a cigarette and pooped in the washroom as soon as we walked in. The floor was sticky and not been swept. The shower curtain looking as if someone has used it to clean vomit. There were brown, green stains and pen markings in the sheets. When we went to bed at 9pm we slept on top of the bedding and just wore sweat suits to sleep. Around 11:30pm we were woken up by the sound on music and chairs and tables being moved across to floor above us. We banged on the ceiling and they would stop for only a second. After 2hours of trying to sleep we just packed our things back into the car and returned the key to the front desk. When we told them we were no longer staying they asked why and we told them our reasons so they came back to the room to listen and right as they walked in there was a super loud bang and the music was louder at that point. They wanted us to stay so they called the upstairs room but spoke in their language to I wasn’t should if they were negotiating or demanding that they stop. At that point tho we no longer felt safe because more people were going up and down the stairs giving dirty looks to us which they went into that room. We got into the car and the two “staff” threw the key card at us.
The owners were very nice but the place is extremely scary to stay at. There are people who live there full time & even though they were nice, it still didn’t feel safe. I didn’t go outside the entire evening and was scared to go out to get in my vehicle in the morning. This is not a place for families.
Some years ago I stayed at a motel in Kamloops simply because it was the last room in the (fires made other close by cities evacuate) city. The room was dirty. To say the least. Well they changed name since then. Same service, little cleaner but a long ways to go. I realize that Motel 6 does not have any minimum qualifications for its hotels. Live and learn.
Nice, clean, quiet motel with options around for food and drinks. I stayed downtown last month… never again. I would rather stay beside the highways which was actually quiet and didn’t hear the traffic with the a/c on. I’ll be back. The place is slightly outdated but it’s like staying at your grandmas for the weekend. You’ll survive and not have to worry about bringing bed bugs home.
It was OK for the money. But it seemed like there were addicts living in the complex. They seemed harmless enough, but definitely had to keep your doors and windows locked. It’s OK for the money. I think it’s pretty common these days to find these conditions and most cheaper hotels
