Mountain Traveler Ranch Barndominium

Come on out the Ranch! Our 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment (barndominium) sits atop our working barn at the -MT ranch. Stop and take in a true Montana experience, watch the foals play in the field and enjoy the steers, horses, and other barn animals. Go check out the elk farm a couple hundred yards away or enjoy your morning coffee watching the sun come up while the Bull Elk and Buffalo are a window view away. You can enjoy your stay without going anywhere but we are conveniently located just minutes to Kalispell, and Flathead Lake. Centrally located between 2 ski resorts Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail Mountain. Take a 36 mile drive to Glacier National Park. Enjoy 360 scenic views of the surrounding mountains on this 2nd story Barndominium. Fully furnished with King bed master and queen guest room. Tile and wood floors with granite counter tops. We also just installed an A/C system in the main living area. Great place to stay

Great place to stay for a family (and close to skiing!)
This was a great place to stay for a family - clean and relaxing setting. Close to both Whitefish and Blacktail ski areas. We loved the views each morning.

We had a wonderful stay in this spacious and clean barndominium... beautiful views, quiet and peaceful, and a great jumping off point for touring this region. Highly recommended.

Kids loved being immersed in the working ranch. Centrally located to many amazing sites! We are private people and felt very comfortable staying here. Definitely will be back in the future if our adventures take us back to this area!

Simple life is the best!
Perfect family ranch getaway. Close enough to GNP, yet not in a touristy location. True Montana feeling, the entire family loved it. We were calling it “home” within a day. Highly recommended!!

Fun lodging above a working barn. Ranch setting with animals was perfect for our 12yr old (and me, the 72 yr old). Every amenity you could ask for in a very nice "cowboy" theme. Thx to owners.

Fantastic and considerate
The space was amazing as promised and previously reviewed. When I got there, the playpen was already set up for my baby. This was a very helpful and thoughtful touch that was much appreciated! There were many thoughtful touches like this that were appreciated. We will definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.

Very clean, comfortable property. Bedding was comfortable. quiet. Owner was there and busy but nice. TV reception was spotty and instruction for use were based on idea that you already were familiar with streaming services. I am not a rancher but could tell they have over grazed the property.

Lovely ranch destination
First time in a barndominium and was lovely! Very clean and comfortable. Power went out when getting ready one morning, but of course no fault of the owner. Her attention to the little details was wonderful! We appreciated the snacks and hat very much!! Perfect location to enjoy the surrounding small towns and visiting Glacier. Loved watching the kids practice their roping, getting ready for their rodeo. Highly recommend this rental!!

Super memorable and fun stay!
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the barndominium. Super clean and comfortable accommodations with beautiful views of the farm out every window! We loved watching the mares with their foals. We visited during a heat wave but the portable AC unit kept the place very comfortable. Suny and Sue have done an amazing job designing this place — all the amenities you need with fun western decor. Close to Kalispell, easy access to Glacier, and Flathead lake down the road — such a great home base for lots of family adventures. Our girls are already begging to go back!

Panoramic Mountain Views from a working Ranch
The stay was great and just as described. Although it took us 50min to get to West Glacier each day we went up, the ranch was quiet, secluded, and very peaceful. We went hiking, boating, exploring the mountains in an ATV, horseback riding, and many other things around Glacier and Flathead, yet our kids consistently said their favorite activity was being at the ranch playing with the new kittens and petting the horses and cows. Suny and Sue were very accommodating and great hosts, gave us recommendations to a rodeo that we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely stay again if we were back in the area.

What an amazing experience
This was our first experience staying at a “barndominium” and I’m afraid I will never be able to replicate the wholesome, beauty, peace and joy we experienced there - both exploring Glacier & at the property. The second floor of the barn (which is where you would be living) is clean, modern with a country feel, and extremely comfortable & inviting. The ranch is beautiful with horses, cattle, pigs, dogs and cats. Our boys (ages 7, 7, & 4 and from a big city) were in heaven. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and taking the time to help my boys learn about farm life. We also enjoyed exploring Glacier National Park, the rodeo and dinner on Flathead Lake.

Perfect MT farm experience
Great property with amazing views. As you are above a working barn, there is a bit of barn odor and sounds but nothing that bothered us. Owners provided ear plugs just in case and have odor trappers to help with smell. They were very responsive and easy to work with. Barndominium was immaculate and I wish my house were half this nice. Everything we needed was provided and they even included some snacks and a great ball cap. This property was exactly what we needed to unwind and get out of our house. Kalispel area is beautiful and house is centrally located making it easy to travel throughout the valley. We will definitely look at staying here again in the future.

This is a working ranch
First - the Barndominium is perfectly decorated and has everything that you will need during your stay. Sue and Suny are very nice, but they are also working. You will see them working with the animals and they are they will definitely answer your questions, other than that they let you do your thing. The two biggest issues for us was the no smoking policy. I am used to that on most properties, but this is a strict no smoking anywhere because of the hay. If you are a cigar smoker, you can always grab a camping chair and head down to the river. The second issue is the flies. You are staying above an actual barn, there are lots of flies. Keep the door closed and used the fly swatter, but be prepared this is a working ranch, there are flies. We loved our stay, and the hosts were super easy to work with. We would definitely recommend the Barndominium for anyone ready to spend a few days on a working ranch.

Nice unique place to stay
We loved our time at the Barndominium. Hosts were super nice, communicative, responsive and have a nice ranch. Quiet area away from Kalispell. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was nice, kitchen well suited, even a TV for the football games at night. Would certainly stay again.
