"We stayed at the Rydges for the weekend, and found it to be a great hotel, with modern facilities and large rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the room quiet and dark. Perfect for that sleep in. About the only downside is the location. It is a bit of a drive from the centre of town and doesn’t have any restaurants or pubs near by. It is a $15 taxi ride from the heart of Kalgoorlie to the Rydges, so not too bad. The staff were very friendly and efficient, although the reception was unmanned...

"The good: great bed, nice thick walls and curtains, so no intrusive sound and light. Bathroom light can't be operated without fan also running. Some of the linen is worn/stained and needs replacing."

"It was comfortable but average only; 6/10; a bit noisy with contractors in most rooms leaving very early in the morning...........the meal I had at Amalfi was very good (Ceasars salad) and the service was excellent."
