Handy location
Overall this property was clean with good kitchen facilities. It is situated just outside the Kaikoura township.We were in a twin room in the ground level of the accommodation. It wasn't clear to us that we had a shared bathroom. When we got there we were told by a staff member that the bathroom was shared by one other room (with 2 people), however we found this wasn't the case. When we and the other 2 people arrived, the bathroom had water all over the floor, and sopping wet towels. Unfortunately the toilet and shower are in the same room, which was frustrating. We later found a cockroach in the kitchen. For the money we paid it seemed unjustified given the bathroom situation. It didn't feel like a customer centric experience.

Swallows nest is a small bedroom with access to a shared bathroom on the same floor. You also have access to a nice kitchen and dining area on another floor. The listing in Booka bach read as though it was one unit, so we were disappointed to find it was a shared bathroom with several other rooms
