Hokulani 142, Honau Kai Resort, is a fabulous ground floor unit with a beautiful private lanai and garden area. Our lanai extends out to an open grass area which many of our guests use to relax, play games, or enjoy the quiet surroundings. There are no elevators exiting our unit or waiting to enjoy the resort and pool areas. Our guests come and go with our secure lanai door locks for convenient access to the pool areas and beaches.

Safe Travels - Ground floor with added secure access in/out from the lanai (keyed), no walking through the hotel hallways, corridors, or elevators to a higher floor location. Our unit features its own dedicated ventilation and AC system and air is NOT circulated/shared with other units and common places.

OUR CONDO: Ideal unit for families - 2 Bed / 1 Bath 950 square foot condo (plus 190 sq ft Lanai/Garden) with spacious 11 foot ceilings. It is located in the Hokulani tower (north side). Situated in the heart of Honua Kai Resort on the GROUND floor, it provides easy access in and out (from either the keyed Lanai or condo door) - no elevators needed! The lanai opens up to lush lawns for games or activities and walkways with resort views and the West Maui mountains. Outside foot traffic is considerably less than inner courtyard units, providing the convenience of walking out on the lanai and being a minute away from the resorts many pools, the amazing Duke's Restaurant, the Hokulani fish pond, and the wonderful Aina Gourmet Market.

FEATURES: This unit features four full size or larger beds - in the master, a King Bed with deluxe linens, an incredible Full over Full Bunk Bed in the second bedroom, and an upgraded Queen Plus (66x80) size comfort sofa sleeper in the living room. Our sleeper is 6” wider than standard sofa beds, and includes 80” sleeping surface length, solid platforms providing even support - no bars, no springs, and no sagging. All our guests, regardless of where they sleep, can rest comfortably.

TECHNOLOGY: Both bedrooms and living area have their own HD flat screen TV's with cable. Additionally, the main living room features a wall mounted 65" 4K Smart TV, plus a Blu-Ray DVD player. Throughout the unit, enjoy 300 MB Fiber internet and wireless AC service. An Amazon Echo for streaming music is also provided for your listening pleasure. Our guests are subscribed to the resort's towel tracker program, allowing you to receive clean pool / beach towels around the property. Once finished, the towels can be returned to the same spot, no laundering needed.

HONUA KAI OVERVIEW:
Honua Kai is a newer property in lower density, north beach Ka'anapali! Resort amenities and luxury living at its Maui best. Close to shopping, dining, and golf. Enjoy the sun and sand at one of West Maui's most popular beach parks, Kahekili Beach (Airport Beach). Swimming and snorkeling are all within the resort area. Honua Kai is connected to the 3+ mile walkway along the shore to the famous Black Rock Beach, Whalers Village, or head north to visit Honokowai Beach Park (perfect for young children), the farmers market, and local organic food store.

Honua Kai Resort and Maui update: The following resort operations are all open daily.
The featured 3-acre network of pools, hot tubs, waterslide and children's area, 6am-10pm. Ho'ola Spa (Konea), 9am-5pm. Duke's Restaurant for dine in/take-out, 8am-9pm, plus live nightly entertainment. Duke's poolside service, 11am-4:45pm. Whaler's General Store (Konea), 7am-9pm. Aina Gourmet Market (Hokulani), 6:30am-2pm. Honua Kai Fitness Center, 24 Hrs. Honua Bell/Valet service is temporarily closed, and you must self-move luggage to the unit. Times Supermarket across the street from resort is also open daily, 5am-11pm. Many on island excursions are open with reduced capacity, so check with provider for updates. Nearby restaurants are open with some limitations, and currently requiring guests to wear masks.

We loved staying here!! The 1st floor access to everything, especially the coffee shop and beach for sunrise is ideal. The place is stocked with what you need. The beach chairs were so great to take with us and my kids lived the bunk beds. Highly recommend for a great family vacation!

Our beautiful Maui resort
The condo was just great, the right size, and clean and beautiful. It’s also conveniently located being on the ground and close to the pools, and there were about 4-5 pools to choose from . The report itself was nice and located next to the Westin villas. And the beachfront has some great snorkeling areas. We hope to use this again in the future.

Perfectly clean and organized! Extremely responsive contact on the island! Exceeded expectations! We will stay here again. I loved the location of the unit. It’s very central and you have walking access to beach, restaurant, spa, local grocery store and coffee shops. One added bonus we parked underground! Unit to car was 2 minutes! Very nice unit but needs new couch and new decorating. Needs paint in some areas and a new book on Maui on the coffee table. Otherwise, very nice process on the check in check out and the property management was very responsive. Thank you for everything.

We LOVED our stay here. We traveled with a few other couples who stayed at other locations and this was by far the best. The condo itself is fantastic and well-stocked (with the only exception of toilet paper that we had to buy and kitchen towels) and the location in the building is amazing. We had a few kids and being on the first floor with the grass play area and ease of getting to the pool and beach was one of the best things about this place. Small thing, but the proximity to the elevator to the underground parking also made it so easy to get in and out. Highly, highly recommend!!

We really enjoyed our stay. On past trips we usually choose a unit with a view, but it was so nice and convenient to be on the ground floor. The kids could just run out to the huge grassy lawn and play catch or with other kids. Also was quick easy access to the pools and beach. The unit was well stocked with kitchen supplies, laundry soap, etc. Comfortable beds. Kids loved the bunk beds. Excellent communication with owner. Thank you! Hope we are back soon.

Great Ground Floor Location
Honua Kai is a beautiful and fun property and this was our second stay for 7 nights. Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) loved the convenience of this unit's ground floor location. It provided easy access to the middle of the pool area and the beach beyond. The bunk beds were perfect for our 2 kids. The unit was spacious and tidy. We used the provided beach chairs, boogie boards, and cooler daily. Dukes was very convenient for drinks around the pool during the day and we had sunset dinners there to start and end our trip. We'll be back!

Perfect location/Beautiful condo
We could not have been happier with this beautiful condo. We loved the unit’s location - close to pool and three minute walk to beach. Close to lobby and coffee shop, and no need to wait for elevators! That was a plus. Unit is stocked with everything we could have possibly needed, and the washer and dryer are a game changer. Both Brandon and Monty were quick to reply any time we had a question, and check in and check out were a breeze. Only negative was the smart tv in the living room - it was out about 50 percent of the time. We weren’t watching a lot of television, but it was a bit inconvenient in the evenings. Would highly recommend staying here, it did not disappoint!

When my family and I arrived we had food left under the coffee table with ants surrounding it. Also large spiderwebs in the corners of the ceiling. I texted the on island property manager and he was quick to respond. They came out the next day and vacuumed and cleaned the obvious spider web but left the remainders. Instead of bothering them again we just swept them out ourselves. We didn't have any dish towels but made due with the dish rags and paper towels provided. The property is beautiful and a lot of fun for families. We would stay here again.

Best Place to Stay in Maui
Property was absolutely gorgeous. I loved that it was ground floor and only had to use the elevator to get to the parking garage. I wish the bunk beds were not so noisy and that every time you moved it didn't shake everything. I wish there had been more pillows, we used the cushions/pillows from the chairs. BUT, these are tiny little items and I would recommend this property 1000 times over to anyone and everyone and if it were just my husband and I we would stay there 1000 times over, but with two adults and two teenagers - sharing one bath was more challenging that I thought - LOL. But, this has nothing to do with the property, this is solely on our family. Anyway, loved, loved, loved the property. Best place in Maui to stay. Price and location and amenities were phenomenal. LOVED EVERY MINUTE!!!

Beautiful condo and great location
We really enjoyed our time at the property. With 2 kids under 4 we loved the ground floor location to allow them to safely play. The 2nd bedroom doesn’t have windows which actually is a blessing for jet lagged kids. The resort itself is our second time and really like the place. Great location, nice walking path and of course we love duke’s. Some of the best beaches in the world are only 10 minutes away. Dan was extremely responsive with the few questions we had. The checkin process was a bit rocky with not being clear there were 2 different lobby towers, giant lines, uninformed staff directing us in the wrong direction to the unit, and only 1 wrist band for the entire family which made it a bit hard at times but all worked out and had a wonderful week. This is not the fault of Dan but the resort itself. We would return!

Nice, but needs some attention
The unit is well situated, a bit away from the pools, with the outside/ground floor a big bonus. Our biggest "complaint" is that the second bedroom is adjacent to the elevator and hallway/exterior doors. During our stay the "soft close" mechanism on the doors broke twice resulting in slamming doors (fairly promptly repaired, but very loud and at night sleep disturbing). Our other observation is that a number of the appliances are tired (dryer door has to be tapped shut with duct tape, toaster cord was frayed and gave mild shock when touched - management promptly taped up, AC filters were visibly dirty, and a few other minor things). The unit isn't really decorated and the kitchen is a bit under stocked. Attention to the slamming doors and these several minor issues would make this an ideal unit.

Would definetly stay here again!
We had a great time staying at this Honua Kai resort! From our first walk through the door we felt like it would be a great place for us to spend our vacation. The unit was clean and spacious. Startup supplies were provided (laundry detergent, soap, shampoo/conditioner, dishwasher detergent and trash bags) which was great. The air conditioner was crisp and cold and the washer and dryer in the unit was so convenient. We loved having the lanai doors wide open which led to the grassy yard. The kids thought the big grassy field/hill was great. We were able to sit on the lanai and watch the kids run and do cartwheels for hours it seemed like. The pools/beach and restaurant were a very short walk. My daughter loved the slide at one of the pools and the 1.5’ deep shallow pool was great for my 18 month old. We loved being able to eat at Duke’s Beach House multiple times and not have to drive anywhere. I have already been recommending this place as I would 100% stay here again on our next Maui trip!

Perfect rental for family with young children
This was our first time staying in a large resort, but now that our kids are big enough to socialize (4 and 2), we are sooooo happy we chose the Honua Kai! Best swimming pools in Maui with loads of variety and features - i.e. pebble bottom pool 1.5 feet deep was perfect for the 2 yr old, while the 4 yr old loved the 3.5 ft pool with waterfalls. The grounds were spread out nicely so it never felt crowded. Beach access was great - even saw a few sea turtles come up on the sand! This unit specifically was also ideal - ground floor for easy access to/from the outdoors without waiting for an elevator or walking down a long hallway. Everything was very clean, comfortable and convenient with master BR for parents & second BR with comfortable bunk bed for grandma and kids. Kitchen was well appointed and we ate most meals in unit or outside at grilling areas, followed by several trips to Dukes for HULA PIE dessert. Brandon & Monty were extremely prompt in answering any questions. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this resort and this unit for a great family vacation!
