"The Reef Retreat setting is very nice and tranquil. The only drawback for us was our room was a top floor one. We had lots of suitcases due to our cruise before we disembarked in Cairns. "Truly an excellent place, the owners didnt hesistate to put the best building materials into the villa. There are at least 5 to 6 towel hangers in bathroom. No stinginess there. The architect did an amazing job making a 2 BR villa look big, and on our first entry we said "wow". The swimming pool was special with lots of little spa like sections, all connected to main section, people can sit around and chat with separate privacy. "Nice apartment in a good central location ... only 10 minutes from the main street in Port Douglas. Lovely welcome from the receptionist, Rhian, who gives a great first impression. Nice swimming pools, although could do with some umbrellas over lounges for some shade. Balcony area was dirty and therefore not inviting. Overall a good stay though."
