The terrace and pool area were perfect for long, lazy lunches in the sunshine. We had a slight issue with the freezer that was dealt very promptly by the helpful and friendly owners. "The house and location were ideal as we had small children and at times group get togethers with family in the area. On the plus side, both the interior and the outdoor areas are spacious, with lots of different places to be. "We had two lovely week holiday at The Chai and cannot fault anything. Anne and her husband are the perfect hosts-friendly, welcoming and happy to provide ideas and advice for places to visit. They were always available but never intrusive. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and was spotlessly clean. "Beautiful little property in the quiet village of Préguillac. Not far to the coast and an hour drive from La Rochelle and Bordeaux with lots of beautiful Vineyards to visit in between, and a 10 minute drive to Saintes with lots of restaurants and bars, as well as good shopping. Brilliant and welcoming hosts with cute dogs, will miss breakfast and coffee by the pool in the mornings."

A little off the beaten track for amenities but no problem as supermarket about 10 mins away. However if you want a relaxing, calm holiday this is definitely the place to go."

"Loved the outside area, pool is lovely and welcome with the heat in our 2nd week (~38C). Eating outside, under the cover of the wisteria plant was also a pleasure to avoid the sun. House is nice, particularly eating and living areas although the kitchen could be equipped better (utensils, mugs etc), but we managed ok. The house is old, but is in keeping with the other buildings in the area. However there are elements of the house that would benefit from being updated, e.g shelving in bathrooms,...
