Step back in time at this charming vintage cottage which combines a bit of nostalgia (think old-fashioned linoleum floors and narrow, curtained doorways) with modern amenities that include a large deck and a newer (2017) six-person hot tub.

Pine Cone Cottage is a perfect spot for your family vacation. Here at the south end of Wallowa Lake, you'll be within walking distance of the lake and a wealth of activities, including mini-golf, restaurants, the Wallowa Lake Tramway, and horseback riding.

The living room has a wood-burning fireplace with vintage vinyl that will remind you of Grandma's house. The kitchen is off the six-person dining area with an outside exit leading to the gas grill. Extra amenities include a large collection of DVDs and videos, indoor and outdoor games, and extra towels for the hot tub.

At night, please note that the bedrooms do not have doors; they have pull-across curtains instead.

Cute and rustic
This cottage has a lot of charm and just about everything you need. (Except, oddly, salt.) As described in other reviews, it’s cozy, lacks bedroom doors, but is otherwise very comfortable. The beds are very firm and there’s a stream outside one of the bedrooms which was nice to listen to at night. We also had a very exciting thunderstorm, but I presume the rental agency had nothing to do with that. ;-)

Cozy rustic cabin with an awesome hot tub
Cabin was probably built in the 40’s with that old fashion charm. Our first trip to the Wallowa’s, what a beautiful place!

Sufficient
House was adequate for our needs but felt overly stuffy and crammed with baskets, furniture what wouldn’t ever be used and tchotchkes. Signs of mice activity in the kitchen drawers (feces) so we hand washed everything before use. Kitchen also had a few glasses with sharp chips in the rim. Deck and hot tub were a nice addition!

Quaint little cabin
Pine Cottage Cabin was great for us. Very clean. We loved that we could shut gates on deck, leave door open so our dogs could run in and out. Good location we could walk anywhere in 5 mins. Cabin is very quaint with old fashioned furnishings and decor.

Old, Old, Old
We really love the Joseph area and the Wallowa Lake. Not so much of this old cabin.

Rustic cabin in the pines
Lots of charm. Solid wood throughout. Beautiful quiet setting. Small view of the lake from the deck. Nice hot tub out on the deck. Bathroom is very small. Access is up a steep uneven set of rock steps. We enjoyed our stay.

Cute
A great little place, but a few things you need to know. Parking and turn around is awful. Directions to find it were pretty difficult. Although surfaces were clean, there were TONS of cobwebs. The deck needs repair in a year or two. It’s getting pretty worn. It’s a cute place and great location though.

Funky place but quiet neighborhood and nice porch.
It was quite clean but be ready for very small rooms that haven't much airflow. In fact, the house doesn't have much airflow at all as none of the main room area windows open. Our stay was 90+ Farenheit and it was hot hot hot without the windows to provide airflow. Bring some outlet multipliers - there are few outlets and if you are there with smart phones, etc., you'll want the outlets to charge your stuff. The hot tub is very nice and was exceptionally clean. I did a quick search for the user manual so I could figure out the controls so you might do the same (kind of obscure). Do check the BBQ (which works really nice once lit manually (the sparker was broken) and once you put a tank on it that has gas in it (ours was empty but there was a full spare)). It has 3 burners that all work super well. Better than mine at home. The wifi works great - look at the router on the bottom for the password and network because the emailed instructions referred to an old network.... or use WPS to connect between devices. Very quiet neighborhood! That was a treat! Oh, bring a suit for the tub - it's in full view of many neighbors ;) ... or maybe you don't care - ha ha.

Rustic Oasis in the Woods
Rustic cabin with excellent hot tub, tucked into the woods. Their description fails to mention the babbling brook in the yard! Always grateful for a dog friendly stay. Would stay here again. Glacier Grill was good for lunch and cannot recommend enough booking dinner at Vali’s just up the road before you come into town.

Nice little cabin!
Great little cabin. Love the hot tub and the location and the old-school cabin charm with the narrow doors and wood everything. The floor is creaky and uneven and the ceiling wavy and the shower has no pressure and there are some spiders and who cares? It was really a charming place to stay. The front stairs are deceptively steep so don’t be in a rush, but we had a nice time.
