We had a wonderful family gathering of 7, comfortably in the house. Plenty of room to spread out and also a large gathering area. There is a convenient crossover across the street to the beach, but because of the tide there wasn’t much beach. We travelled to Jekyll Island to see the Christmas light displays and decorations. It was beautiful and close to the house.

Fantastic home base for exploring Jekyll Island
We loved this place! We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Jekyll Island. This home is perfect for a family, with plenty of space for siblings (that don’t always get along) to spread out. It was super clean, and had everything we needed, from beach gear to cooking ware to a great location steps from the beach. This street’s beach access is still being repaired, but we easily walked the next street down to access a lovely beach. The house has a wagon to tote all your beach gear, and also beach chairs, toys, an umbrella, and boogie boards. You have to check the tide schedule to see when the beach may not be accessible, but it wasn’t an inconvenience, and there is plenty of other stuff to do if you don’t feel like driving to another beach. Our favorites were the sea turtle center, driftwood beach, Horton pond, Fuse frozen yogurt and the Jekyll Market. We loved our stay here! Kids voted it our best vacation yet.

Great House
Spent a week at the Sea Shanty with a group of friends. The house was great and included all the amenities you would need for a fantastic vacation. Everything was clean and tidy and the furniture was new and comfortable. The only minor complaint would be the fact that the beach access, although close to the house, was not usable due to the last hurricane washing away the staircase. We were able to enjoy the other beaches on the island by either a short walk or drive and would highly recommend this house for future vacationers.

We had a great stay. The property was clean, comfortable, and had all the kitchen necessities stocked for eating in. The host was communicative, prompt with responses, and went out of their way to check on the property after a major storm prior to our visit. The public beach access by the property has had some damage but we were able to take a short walk to a better access point easily.

The house was perfect for 7 people! LOTS of room. Had all the things you would have at home. CONS- the pier across by the house was not useable.. seems a step or 2 were missing so we had to travel down to the south beach, so that was a huge let down, would of been nice to know about the fee to enter the island, I feel like the information about high/ low tide should be sent or posted prior to renting, you are required to wash beach towels and essentially clean the place prior to leaving…. Not sure what we pay a cleaning fee for.

Had a wonderful time. This home was conveniently located and was perfect for our group. It IS steps from the beach, but the beach isn’t always accessible due to dune erosion control. At high tide tjere is no beach.

A lovely stay at a lovely location
A great place. We had six adults and there was plenty of space to be together and also have some “alone time”. Looks recently remodeled and has very nice furnishings throughout. Super super easy beach access in a quiet neighborhood. Hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with. Jekyll Island is not Myrtle Beach. It’s quiet and very chill. If this is what you’re looking for in a beach vacation, this house would make a great home base.

My brother and I rented the property for a family wedding. The space was perfect for us…with 2 couples and 4 adult kids. 3 full bathrooms helped us get out the door each day timely. Sleeping spaces were comfortable. Common space was enjoyable during our down time. Very pleased!!

Amazing house with great access to the beach. It was absolutely beautiful and spacious!
Jekyll island was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back! I wish the property was directly on the beach but you were able to see it from the main living area. I loved everything about the house from the seashell exterior to the beachy interior. I have no complaints and would absolutely stay here again. It was perfect!
