Smugglers' Notch Ski Resort is ~ 3 miles away with alpine and Nordic skiing. and loads of summer fun. Nearby, Stowe, offers a plethora of offerings (please note: Stowe is ~ 15 minutes away in the summer and is one hour away in winter months due to the closure of Rte 108). Jay Peak is 50 minutes away. This area is popular with painters, writers, photographers and to the art community at large. Equally a favorite for foodies and craft beer lovers. A great place to stay in Vermont!
My husband and I returned to the Pondhouse for our second time this year, and it was just as good as the first! We highly recommend for anyone looking for hiking or just a relaxing getaway nestled between stunning mountains.

This was an amazing property tucked away in the Green Mountains within minutes of Smuggler's Notch. The property is absolutely beautiful with everything we needed for a one week stay. Anniversary celebration at the pond house
My wife and loved the location of the pond house! It was just rural enough with beauty everywhere the eye could see. Surrounded by woods and other breathtaking scenery! Very private and quiet ♥️ Our host was on site in case we needed anything and was very kind to us!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home in a quiet and peaceful area. We enjoyed the close proximity to great hiking and golf, and the lovely outdoor patio area. The property and home are just as pictured, and Ellen is very helpful for any questions. Highly recommend!

Beautiful property, great host, easy access, very clean.
Beautifully landscaped property. We spent one morning watching the hummingbirds fuss at each other at the feeder, a groundhog (maybe?) on the lawn and the pond fish jump around. The host was super friendly, attentive, accommodating and helpful with local advice. The accommodation was very clean, had all amenities, great windows and super fast WIFI.

Lovely get away
If you are looking for a secluded wonderland with a welcoming host, this is your place! We stayed for two nights and it was not long enough. The house is very well appointed and the kitchen loaded with everything one needs to cook. The living area is easy to hang out in, relax, read and enjoy the fabulous views.

The Pond House is amazing!

We had the best snow of the season!
Lovely stay for my son and I on a short ski trip. This location is ideal to ski smuggs, but you will have to loop around the mountain to get to Stowe as the notch is closed in the Winter (about 45 minutes). The wide open floor plan should be considered if anyone in a group is needing privacy beyond the bathroom.

Another Wonderful Long Weekend
This is such a fantastic place to stay... The views are amazing, every window looks out onto beautiful scenery, the house itself is beautiful and has lots of cooking tools (I'm a big cook, so this is important to me), comfortable queen sized bed, and nice roomy clean bathroom. Ellen, our host, is my favorite host ever. She is friendly and available when/if needed, and just a great person all around. We love Ellen! We've already booked next year's anniversary weekend, and we can't wait to come back.

Short but sweet
My only complaint about our stay is that it was too short! We only had a couple of days for a quick get away but it was worth the trip. My communication with Ellen was easy and she made checking in totally hassle free. The place is perfect, homey and comforting, and the property, even though it was winter, I could tell would be magical in the warmer months. The view out the living room window made it hard to get up and get going but we did some exploring. Nothing beats a small New England town at Christmas time...I hope we can come back soon!

Wonderful, beautiful, quiet spot
We stayed 3 nights at Pondhouse. The guest room is open and spacious with very comfortable furniture and extremely well stocked kitchen. There is a gorgeous view of mountains and the owner's gardens. The apartment has lots of very pleasing original paintings and art. There is a nice private outside sitting area. We really enjoyed our stay and Ellen, the owner, is extremely friendly and a pleasure to talk to. A great place to stay. If you plan on doing much cooking, I would suggest stocking up at the Hannaford's supermarket in Morrisville or at the Shaws in Waterbury as options are more limited in Cambridge. We would gladly stay again.

Best Place Ever
The photos don't do justice to how beautiful this property is. My husband and I stayed here for over two weeks this month and it was just perfect for a couple. We used the Pondhouse as our space for remote work. The house is well-equipped for those who like to cook. All the necessary pots, pans, spices, etc., are provided. The house is filled with light due to the gorgeous windows. Dozens of lovely paintings from the owner's mother (a professional artist) adorn the walls. After spending our mornings working, we found the house to be centrally located to so many great hiking spots and then great breweries for after hike beers. It is the perfect Vermont get away. The owner lives in her own house on the property and is very attentive and generous. Ellen works hard to make sure her guests have everything they need. I can't wait to go back!

perfection
We just spent 4 perfect days in the Pond House. It is tremendously convenient for ski-ing at Smuggler's notch, as we were doing (just as convenient as some of the condos on site, in fact, you can nip back for lunch if you want) but has all the charm of being on its own, surrounded by birds with deer stepping across the lawn. The house itself is very spacious and well-planned, much larger than it looks in the pictures, and is the best equipped rental property I have ever stayed in: if you have forgotten something you will find that it has been thoughtfully provided in exactly the place you might expect to look for it. The kitchen is very well-stocked with utensils and essentials; the bed is supremely comfortable; there is seating for 6 at the dining table and on the large and comfortable sofas and chairs. And the space is absolutely beautiful, warm and welcoming, with huge windows that look onto trees and mountains. We will certainly be back.

Wonderful experience at Pondhouse!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the Pondhouse. Ellen was a very gracious hostess, and was especially kind to help us when we experienced a flat tire (she hooked us up with a local repair shop, and drove us to purchase groceries during the repair.) The property was beautiful and peaceful, with plenty of space to walk our dog on the property itself, and on the adjacent road. The location was perfect, with easy access for family wedding activities at Jeffersonville, Smuggler’s Notch, and Stowe. Highly recommend!!
