The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to be able to enjoy a quiet and peaceful get-away. We used the canoe and explored the lake, where we saw loons and other wildlife. Very beautiful lake. All and all, we would be happy to comeback for another stay.
Our third time here. Peaceful. Serene. The cottage has everything you could want and is spotless. It is right on the water. If you love Nature, this is the place for you.
One of our most relaxing and serene vacations. We swam, kayaked, played cards, watched movies, and ate ice cream more than once. The view from the deck is unmatched and the water was unbelievably warm. It was just the recharge we needed.
Thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The camp was very clean,
and had everything we needed. Great morning sun on the deck. Very quiet pond that was fun to paddle around. And a farm stand with fresh strawberries only a couple of miles up the road. Hosts were very responsive.
We had a wonderful stay at this great little spot on the pond. SO peaceful and quiet - gorgeous morning sun on the deck looking out over conservation land. The cabin had everything we needed for our few days and was exceptionally clean. The cabin is very comfortable but is small and intimate - perfect for a couple or close family! We loved paddling on the kayaks and caught numerous bass and pickerel. Great communication with Dawn leading up to the visit.
I grew up just down the road and this cabin was everything that I hoped for and a textbook Maine “camp” with modern comforts and the perfect location. Every time I thought we needed something I opened a drawer and there it was! 10/10! Great week!
The location is absolutely perfect. The views are stunning. The cabin is secluded, but has all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. My husband and I first rented this cabin in 2002. We've dealt with 3 different owners. The latest owners have added a lot of amenities that have truly elevated the property.
Dyer Long Pond is a beautiful place. It's gorgeous and quiet, yet within driving distance of lovely little towns.
My boyfriend's father passed this past May and we wanted to return to the lake that the family had a cottage on from 1971 until 2004. It brought back a lot of memories and we were lucky enough to rent from Chris and Dawn just a few cottages down from the old cottage. Chris and Dawn have a beautiful place that allows you to disconnect from the world and enjoy nature. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We are already talking about returning next year for a longer stay than just the few days we had.
The cabin lived up to expectations. I could sit on the deck and watch the wildlife forever, loon, bald eagle, and much more. The minute you walk in it feels like home. The host is very responsive and helpful.
The only thing to think twice about is the loft. It is challenging to access for anyone with mobility issues or small children though older children would think it awesome.
Our family had a great time at the cottage! The cottage and the surroundings are quiet and peaceful and a stay here is really an opportunity to unplug. There are several kayaks and a canoe available for use during the stay, as well as paddles, life vests (toddler, youth and adult sizes) and pool noodles. The kitchen is stocked with enough dishes, utensils and pots and pans to cook meals while appliances like a blender, microwave, coffee maker (coffee included) and toaster are present as well. The location of the cottage is such that if you are looking to either visit some towns, explore some hiking trails or visit the coast there are many great options within a 30-90 min drive. Communication with the owners prior to arrival was quick and easy. Thank you for a great stay!
Because my boyfriend's family had a summer "getaway" a few cottages down, when we rent this cottage it feels like going home again. We remember all areas of the lake and enjoy the solitude and peaceful feeling that surrounds us. Anyone that is looking to disconnect from the hectic pace of life, this is the place to go!
A great place for a couple to enjoy quiet lake with canoe/kayaks. Serene, everything you need, clean, fresh, and communication with the hosts is great.
We are very grateful to Dawn and Chris for renting this wonderful cabin on the lake! The cabin is small and smartly, solidly built and perfect for 2 people..there is a loft bedroom upstairs with 2 more beds but with the access via ladder-stairs it would be best for older children. Everything was so clean on arrival as the reviews have noted and the coffee supply with sugar and creamers was a very thoughtful and welcoming touch! Although we did not really need it, the air conditioning unit is quiet and effective (and was one of the amenities that attracted us) - as well as a washer and dryer. The lake is big but very quiet and we only got to see the loons after being here for 4 days! The area is wooded but on a sunny day the light is plentiful. This is a wonderful and special place.
This cottage was wonderful, clean and had everything we needed. The host was very helpful and responsive. Our teen daughters had a blast on the lake and we made lots of great memories here!
We couldn’t ask for a better place to decompress and spend quality family time together! My 14 and 12 year old keep us very busy throughout the year and this is our opportunity to be in the moment and take a breath. We loved swimming, fishing, kayaking, playing cards, and cooking dinners together. We spent a day in Boothbay and another day at Pemaquid Beach. It was exactly what we needed and have looked forward to since our stay last year. The property is very clean and has everything you need. Beyond compare are the sights and sounds of the water.
The property was beautifully maintained, every amenity we could have expected was available, including air conditioning, which wasn’t expected! My husband and I would absolutely recommend this property for a secluded getaway. Very peaceful. 😌
My friend and I stayed here for a few days. The space was very clean and it was great to have the fire pit and kayaks to use and the location on the water is peaceful and beautiful. The location was a good middle spot to go either toward Augusta or to the coastal towns. We also appreciated the host’s recommendations - we had a great breakfast one morning at the Jefferson Market. I would stay here again and recommend it for anyone who is looking to get away from the city and enjoy Maine!
Our stay was wonderful and most everything we expected. It would have been nice if the owner initiated more communication to make sure everything was okay, much like a waitress checks to make sure was as expected.
