"On the second day of our stay, the host asserted that the rental had never been approved nor paid for, and said to call at once to resolve. Demanded pay via Venmo and threatened to call the police if we didn't comply. We called 10 times between receiving these messages and leaving, all of which received no response. VRBO said the property was reserved and gave us the address/relevant info, we didn't get any info about it not being approved (the app said "confirmed" upon our arrival) and a charge came through from VRBO, so as far as we knew, the house had been reserved. Host was entirely unprofessional during this situation, which could have been easily resolved."

"With one kid already in college locally and the other on their way there in August we have got to know this neck of the woods quite well in recent years. Driftwood Cottage provides a perfect base for visits to the area with great access to Augusta and Waterville while sitting in the idyllic Belgrade Lakes region.We don’t visit Maine for fancy, we want practical, comfortable, clean and convenient and this house that in spades. We also greatly appreciated the dog-friendliness!Hosts could not have been more welcoming or communicative. So look out, we could be back soon!Thank you!"

"We really enjoyed the property. The interior was nicely updated. The fire pit on the shore was perfect. The ride to Sugarloaf was a little further than expected but the coziness of camp made up for it. Will definitely consider another stay at this property."
