Forget your worries in our spacious and serene country home. Quiet and private, the Getaway at Horse View Farm sits on a 100-acre farm. Enjoy the rolling pasture views, and treat our friendly equine residents to the carrots they crave (which we happily provide--just check the fridge!). Our farm a quick drive to Columbia, Jefferson City, Rocheport, (KATY Trail) and Boonville, (Warm Springs Ranch) so plenty of options for dining, shopping, and entertainment as well. A great place for your getaway!
The space
The Getaway at Horse View Farm is a remodeled farmhouse in a rural community outside of Columbia, MO. The Getaway is part of the Little Tree Horse Retirement farm, run by two of your co-hosts .

The kitchen, great room, living room, full bathroom, and one bedroom are located on the main floor. Two additional bedrooms are located upstairs on the second floor. The basement contains a half bathroom and laundry area. The stairs are a bit steep due to the age of the house, so young children and anyone who has trouble with stairs may not find this to be suitable if they need to access the second story or the basement.

Outside, guests will find a large gas grill on the patio along with outdoor dining areas. The front porch is also a great place to enjoy the views of the farm. Feel free to wander around the garden areas and enjoy the peace and quiet of your getaway!
Guest access
Our guests have access to the entire home and yard! The detached garage and shop are not available for guest use. Barns and outbuildings located within fenced pastures or lots are also not available to guests. However, guests should feel free to peruse the outbuildings around the yard and the rustic barn that is just west of the house. Guests do so at their own risk!

Guests are NOT permitted to climb over, crawl under, or open any fences or gates or to otherwise access the pastures in any way. Guests ARE permitted to feed the provided carrots to any horse that wander up to the fence for some attention, but guests acknowledge that they are doing so at their own risk.

WARNING: Under Missouri law, an equine activity sponsor or professional shall not be liable for any injury to, or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risk of equine activities.

Cute house with lots to do outdoors
Quant older home with beautiful views and lots of windows. We did have young kids so there were some glass and other things within reach that we had to move out of the way but our kids absolutely adores the chickens on property and had so much fun exploring. Also very steep steps that we used our big cooler to keep the baby from climbing up. The views from the property are astounding and we were so glad to go when all the trees were changing to fall colors. We would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay if you’re visiting Columbia.
We were traveling to Columbia for football and decided to stay a little outside of town. This property is only 30 minutes from Columbia and the cost is great compared what places in town want to charge on game day. The property is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. We would definitely stay again if traveling to Columbia.

Beautiful Country Stay
We spent Christmas here. It was a perfect location for our family - close to other relatives and offered us plenty of space. Gorgeous views! We also enjoyed the horses and chickens that reside there. Hosts were wonderful - quick to answer any questions we had, thoughtful, helpful. Definitely interested in a return visit!

Peace in green pastures.
Gorgeous farm and renovated farmhouse in the peaceful lovely Missouri farm country. Beautiful views from the kitchen and great room across rolling hills and the small herd of retired horses that live on the property. I am so looking forward to a return visit.

We had a wonderful time. The horses were everywhere. We loved sitting on the porch watching the horses and the deer. The kids had so much fun on the property feeding the chickens our left over cereal and vegetable scraps. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen and dining area were perfect for a big morning breakfast. The big clawfoot tub soak was a fantastic end to a long farm visit day! Will absolutely stay again.
