"Serenity" Vistas (unit 1B at the Buttonwood Reserve Oceanfront Condominium Resort) is a bottom-floor unit, that includes a full-surround two-ocean view, facing west over the Caribbean for the sunset and east to the Atlantic for the sunrise. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room through eight-foot glass sliders and six-foot bay windows. The expansive private decks also feature spectacular sea views in every direction.

Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches. On the Atlantic side is a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach, pristine without a single house. It is accessed via our private, golf-carts only driveway. All condominiums at Buttonwood come with access to a fleet of golf carts at no charge. On the Caribbean side of our property, almost in your front yard, is a second beach. This beach is small and rather rocky, so not so aesthetic, but the water is as calm as a lake and this shore is perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, and fishing.

Our resort-style pool is just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.

We just completed a new pickleball court!

Our mini-gym is equipped with a multifunction smith machine cage with precision linear bearings, an Olympic weight rack, dip station, and a cable routed pulley system. Guests also have access to dumbbells and a fitness/yoga mat. This is an open-air gym (fully roofed and with three walls).

The professionally decorated interior of this vacation rental is elegantly furnished, modern, warm and comfortable. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.

The master bedroom is features a large upholstered window seat with magnificent panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or morning coffee, or watch the sunset over the sea. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the deck over the Caribbean.

The guest bedroom also features a large window seat with a spectacular view, this one overlooking the Atlantic. The bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). It is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king.

Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks and a paddle board for use on the sea or in our pond. Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away. Our retired groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our outdoor gas grill near the pool.

Buttonwood Reserve is a 10 minute walk from three restaurants: Delish, Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill, and Mel's Snack Shack.

Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has three grocery stores, a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and Kel D's sports bar. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.

Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor.

Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique resort Sky Beach Club, Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Buccaneer, The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night), the Front Porch, Hot Buns bakery and sandwich shop, and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop).

Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly.

The property’s best feature is it’s location. Being near the center of Eleuthera made it easier to explore the entire island. Brett, the manager, was prompt to respond to any communication from us, and always with a smile.

A Memorable Family Beach Vacation

They could not have been more helpful. The materials and Welcome Letter were extremely useful and a good resource for the island of Eleuthera. The onsite property manager was also very service oriented.The beach was absolutely beautiful and very private, complete with a shipwreck to view. Having access to the gulf carts made it easy (and fun!) to haul all the young children and sand toys to the beach. (A bonus was all the beach toys and beach chairs stowed on site which was all available for use.)Overall, there were some issues with maintenance, which the onsite property manager attempted to address in a timely manner. One issue was the electrical circuits, which interrupted sleep at night. Every time the upstairs guest turned on their fans, the fans and lights in the downstairs unit automatically came on. If guests have different sleep schedules, the lights and fans coming on at various hours during the night can be disturbing. The frequent but usually short nocturnal power outages also interrupted sleep, not because of loss of electricity per se, but due to the noise created. Every time the power went out, the loss of electricity stimulated the safety alarm system which was stimulated again when the power came back on, resulting in being woken up by the flashing lights and alarms during the noturnal power outages.Finally, as noted in the property brochure, beware of the No-see-ums, as they present a lasting itchy memory of the time in Eleuthera! Question: Would we come back? Absolutely!!!

Surprisingly Good Location
Room: The unit looked just like the pictures. The furniture is still in good shape, and for the most part everything looked brand new. The view from the rear deck is to the west, over the trees and toward the water. With the curtains open you can see this view from the living room and kitchen. From the front bedroom, you have a pleasant view toward the property grounds. The mobile hotspot for wireless worked well, but was limited if you're planning on streaming or other heavy usage. Satellite TV (PR DirecTV feed) had more movies than I would have anticipated for standard programming. Property: The grounds were well maintained, most mornings staff was on site doing landscaping work. The pool was clean, but I prefer the warmth of the ocean water. The path to the beach on the golf cart is a fun ride. The beach itself is isn't far from the well-known surfing locations, so during out stay the waves were too rough to swim, but would have been great for water sports. On a calm day there should be good snorkeling at a shipwreck not far from the beach. Location: There's a lot of activity 20 mins north or south of Buttonwood. This gives you a lot of options when planning out a day, since anything between Gregory Town and Governor's Harbor is easily reached. The convenience store about a mile north of the property stays open late on Sunday unlike most. There is also a gas and service station just inside town. My preference has typically been to stay in Governor's Harbour, but Buttonwoods spot just outside of James Cistern was very convenient and worked extremely well for us. Buttonwood is in-between a hotel and detached rental home. The unit is spacious and has the amenities of a home, but has the larger staff of a hotel that's readily available to assist when needed, and perhaps the comfort of not being alone in the middle of nowhere. The upstairs unit would offer a bit more privacy and move closer towards the detached home feeling. You could nitpick some details if you wanted, but this is Eleuthera, and that is true for the whole island. Overall, Buttonwood is a rental that's good at what it tries to be.

A Quiet Retreat from Everything!

The house - Very comfortable and well appointed with incredible sea views. The Starlink highspeed Internet was blazing fast for us to work remotely and enjoy Netflix. We had a few very minor issues that Brett the property manager took care of immediately. Brett is an amazing person and resource giving us valuable insights from car rentals, grocery stores, restaurants and sightseeing. The golf carts are a great addition to ferry back and forth from the incredible Atlantic beach. The brand new pickleball court looks great. The sand and water!Buttonwood is centrally located on the island, so it's a convenient spot to explore all that Eluthera has to offer.

We spent more time exploring the many nearby beaches and also took a boating tour with Captain Kid and Son, which was a highlight of the trip. Our favorite nearby beach was Gaulding Cay. Buttonwood is the perfect mid-island location for exploring all the wonders of Eleuthera. There are so many beautiful things to see, and it was perfect to come home to a comfortable, well-appointed condo in the evenings. I can't recommend Buttonwood enough!

You can see the see from bed in the master bedroom. I would recommend you book this unit for your stay. Pool area was relaxing and the pool was always clean. They were fixing the heater so the first few days the water was cool but still nice to swim in.Love that he property is close to both Govenors Harbour and James Cistern so lots to do if you want. The island is so beautiful and you can do lots of day trips from Buttonwood. I would highly recommend unit 1b for its spacious layout and beautiful views of the sun rises and sunsets over the Caribbean Sea.

Great family getaway.

Group Trip: great location, nice and relaxed feel

It was a great location for the proximity to the GHB airport, as well as to many of the sites we visited. Although the apartments had a few hiccups (not each one was fully stocked, one door handle broke off, and some power issues in a couple of apartments), the staff was very quick to respond and generally came over to fix the problem within a matter of the day. We loved the golf carts, and the easy access to both beaches. Our group had a great time and look forward to going back someday soon.

Each condo was well maintained, well appointed with what families needed and had amazing views. Everyone loved the golf carts, amazing sandy private Atlantic beach with great waves, Caribbean beach for snorkeling and kayaking and heated pool. Property is in a great central location on Eleuthera, people made it from Light House Beach in the South to Harbour Island and Spanish Wells in the North and everything in between on our days there. Very close to grocery store in James Cistern. Sonya the property manager and her staff were welcoming and accommodating. If you are thinking about a trip to a family island in the Bahamas, where you can spend days being the only people an beach after beautiful beach this is the place for you!

Both units were clean, comfortable, modern, attractively decorated, and with "picture postcard" views of both the Atlantic and the Caribbean. A sparsely populated beach was a short walk or golf cart ride away. Buttonwood Reserve is convenient to Governors Harbor, James Cistern, and Rainbow Bay, with their wide range of delightful restaurants. The Governors Harbor Airport is a six-minute drive from Buttonwood.The sun was warm, the weather soothing, and the holiday a real treat for us.

This proved to be no issue at all, specifically because the management team at Buttonwood were so supportive and understanding of our situation. The one thing Buttonwood has above all is ample space - so if you are a large group who wants to be together, but have your own space - this is the perfect place. There were 31 of us total with kids, and you never felt on top of each other. The condos are clean and feel up to date. The amenities were superb. Having your own golf cart was critical and really fun to access both sides of the island. The pool was warm at all times and the property is well maintained, unlike in some of our previous experiences in the Bahamas.We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Pretty condo, beautiful island
The condo is new, clean and decorated nicely. It is well stocked with all the beach supplies you could need. The kitchen is also well stocked. My kids loved golf cart rides to the beach, taking the kayaks out, and exploring the beautiful beaches of Eleuthera. It was also nice to have access to a pool at the end of each day. We have loved our stay at Buttonwood!

Really Nice Place
We just stayed at one of the villas at Buttonwood Reserve and highly recommend to anyone coming to Eleuthera seeking a new and very clean place to hang their hat, enjoy stunning water views, spend time on a gorgeous private beach with (we suppose depending on your time there) no one on it, swim in a heated pool, etc. The location is great for trips to Governor's Harbour and Palmetto Point, very close by James Cistern settlement with a great little grocery store/liquor store and a beach bar called Leo Rose's, also Rainbow Bay with beach and inn just 10 minutes up the road. Buttonwood Reserve is a hidden gem in our minds and we can't say enough about the amenities and excellent concierge service that comes with a stay here. The people were great.
