GUIDELINES FOR USE OF ADDITIONAL AMENITIES.

The dock and adjacent buildings are considered common areas. It is not common, but the host or manager may use the dock from time to time, while being diligent to respect your privacy.
Check in instructions: Because we live close by, we just leave the door unlocked for you. There is a notebook at the base of the inside stairs with 2 sets of keys, wifi log in info and other information. Otherwise everything is self explanatory. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. Thank you.
Below is a copy of the release of liability that will need to be acknowledged before using the dock or other amenities.
Release From Liability
I understand that the use of amenities may increase the risk of bodily injury and require additional vigilance. The dock, kayaks, canoe and other water dependent activities may include additional risk and require awareness of the complexities of the associated activities. Docks are inherently slightly unlevel and users need to use more caution than on land or in a house. Dock and water activities require the user to be vigilant with regard to the safety precautions required. All boaters, canoers, and kayakers are required to wear approved life vests. It is suggested that you bring your own life vests and watercraft to ensure good fit and efficacy. Any life vests, watercraft or other games or equipment provided by the owner or manager of Susie’s Seaside Sanctuary are not guaranteed for fit, safety or efficacy. Other safe boating tips and requirements (which can be found on line) shall be observed as well. Tides, currents and weather are constantly changing factors and must be considered when participating in water activities.
We suggest you download the Saltwater Tides App https://www.saltwatertides.com/ if you are planning on participating in water activities. In order to use the app successfully, you will need to have the following information: The Region is Florida. The Area is Nassau Sound and Fort George River. The Zone is Nassau River. The Site is Nassau River Entrance. Insert the date of activity, then press “Get Tides”. The creek that runs behind the house is tidal and it is suggested that you participate in water activities from about 3 hours before high tide to about 3 hours after high tide. Using the creek at low tide may result in not having enough water to float back to the dock until the next high water or require walking through the marsh.
The creek that runs behind the house connects to the Nassau River, which is navigable to the Intracoastal Watery, Nassau Sound, and the Atlantic Ocean. Supervision is required for children and vigilance is mandatory for a safe outing.
There are chickens on site that are confined to pens. Entering the pens increase the risk for bodily injury due to uneven terrain and potentially aggressive roosters and hens. Eating the fresh eggs requires vigilance in cooking food fully to reduce the possibility of food borne illness.
Outside cats bless the property and carry risks associated with domestic animals.
