Peaceful, cozy and spectacular views.
Every need accommodated including a back-up generator! Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Very cozy and spacious home inside. Very comfortable bed mattress in master bedroom. Lots of yard for dogs to run free. Nature all around. Lots of books and board games there. Laundry room was a big plus. Remote setting but lots to see and explore within reach. Very lovely stay and hosts were very responsive.

Peaceful retreat
From the photos on this listing, I knew there would be beautiful views. We were able to watch the partial lunar eclipse from the balcony off the primary bedroom! I think the best part, was how quiet it is. The property is fairly close to the parks we wanted to visit and the driving we did involved almost no traffic on winding country roads. The owners made sure the house was well stocked with supplies. I had brought a couple of books with me but found myself perusing the incredible number of books - including some childhood favorites on the shelves downstairs.

We had an amazing time! The property was clean and had everything we needed. Everything was as advertised or better! Though secluded as we were hoping, there was wifi and cell phone reception, which was also great! We definitely plan to return!

Extraordinary Experience!
This is our Vermont favorite! Perched way up among the hills, this affordable and rustic homestead has spectacular views of the region. There is not another home to be seen from the property. The peaceful privacy is a rare find. Without the light pollution of a city, the stars glow so brightly in the night sky. We loved the spacious deck, whirlpool tub, fire pit, and wood burning stove. Dogs love running around the acreage. Home is clean and comfortable. Fast Wifi. It's also great location and relatively short drive to local dining and recreational spots including Mt Snow valley, lakes, and parks. We enjoy kayaking the Harriman Reservoir and hiking Molly Stark Park. The owners are gracious, responsive, and very helpful with recommendations. Their family goes back generations in the area so they are a wealth of information to help you have that authentic visit that most tourists miss. Highly recommended. We will be back!

The condition of the house is very far from the city and the worst part is that the house is everywhere. Chad dolls and pig puppets are like cursed houses and the bed sheets are very dirty. It is not possible to sleep on the pillows because of the head odor. I tried to sleep by covering the pillows with a towel. I rented the house because the people who recommended it gave good grades to that house. I don't understand why they gave good marks, I definitely do not recommend that house to anyone.

My family and I enjoyed a nice getaway in the woods with plenty of wildlife. The house is very cozy and has plenty of beds and chairs. The property is beautiful and has an awesome sunrise coming over the mountains. The dogs enjoyed running around the yard. We will be looking to stay here again in the future.

Amazing and Idyllic getaway (especially for dogs!)
We loved our time on this property. We had initially planned on roaming/hiking around southern VT with our dog and 3 year old, but ended up spending hours and hours just exploring the property itself and relaxing on the deck, on the grass, in the tree house, in the hammock, by the fire pit, under the stars… the list goes on and on! The property is very secluded, we had our dog off leash the whole time, in the night we’d keep him on a high-vis collar to keep track of him. Our son suddenly turned into Huck Finn and loved rummaging around the woods in the back, crafting things and playing games in the shade. They have many binoculars for watching the many birds (owls, swallows, falcons) and other critters around. The wood fire stove inside was great and easy to use, and the owners left useful instructions for everything. Will return.

Beautiful refuge in the hills of southern Vermont
Wonderful house on a gorgeous hilltop property. Hosts are kind and reached out to us to ask if we needed anything and we wound up having a longer chat about the history of the area. If you're a cyclist like me, this area can't be beat for gravel riding.

Peace & Serenity in a Stunning Setting
As a repeat guest to this charming custom Post & Beam 'Home' , I highly recommend staying for a long wkend or a months at time. My fiance' and I are enchanted by the sweeping long driveway all the way to the top, there sits this special log cabin (with almost 360' mtn views!) Every sunrise and every sunset amazes. For the purist, for whom the mtns call, this is your spot. The hosts are the kindest & warmest people. You feel well taken care of the second you step in the door- to an open concept home with lovely furnishings, beautiful rugs, big sofas (& deluxe rocking chairs/ Lazy Boy's!) The loft level is entirely a Master Suite with skylights and French Doors to a balcony with a separate open study (with an incredible & impressive library.)Main level has an additional 2 charming & cozy bedrms- one I enjoy using as my private office. Below, are double queen size beds and toys galore for your kids or Grandkids. Best of all, your 4- legged family is welcome! Our dogs love the majestic setting as much as we do. We plan on coming back to Chris & Donna's haven 'up on the hill' as often as we possibly can. Kate S.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this magnificent property. It is much more impressive than the photos can convey. As an added bonus, the sunrises and sunsets were magical as were the star-filled night skies. All amenities are available and in very good working order. Internet reception is great - allowing for Zoom calls and concurrent streaming. The host Chris and Donna went above and beyond to accommodate our stay and were highly responsive throughout. I highly recommend staying here and hope to return. Anne

True Northern paradise
My fiancé, dog and I stayed and we were all sad to leave. The views were amazing and we truly loved the property. We unplugged pretty much and soaked in the silence and warm sun. The house is cozy with tons of windows so even on a rainy day we had great views of the mountains while we read books and relaxed. Loved all the nick nacks and pictures in the house too. You definitely get the feeling of being in someone's house vs a stay at a hotel which we loved. Bella loved to run around outside. She is a lazy dog typically but the adventure of being off leash she couldn't refuse. And this was a first off leash adventure she had. There was no risk of seeing people or other dogs so we were totally relaxed. Also the hosts were friendly and great about communicating. They messaged us where stores were and when someone was coming to mow the yard/field. So wonderful to work with. We feel so lucky to experience a stay there and hope to again in the future!!
