Just Stay in a Hotel...
I usually share faults/challenges with the homeowner to give them an opportunity to rectify things. However, this house needs a total do-over. My expectation for rentals is for them to be as clean and comfortable as my own home. This house definitely missed the mark! There was a smell when first walking into the home and an even stronger animal smell in the back porch area. The floors were super squeaky and dirty as my feet were tingling after walking around barefoot. Paint is peeling on the walls, the walls were dirty, one of the cloth headboards had stains on it, and the lampshades were cracked. We killed several black ants crawling around (one on the kitchen counter) and 2 large roaches. Lastly, the back porch does not have a lock on the inside, which made it accessible from the outside. The porch has 2 doors that lead into the livingroom and the primary bedroom. For safety, my husband pushed a couch in front of the livingroom door, leaned a chair against the door in the primary and placed a steak knife on his night stand just in case. The house is on a quiet street with offices....however there were homeless people around the corner. So this is a serious safety concern. We stayed there the first of two nights. However, after discovering most of this on the second day, we decided to leave early and stay in a hotel. This has to be one of the worst homes we've rented. Do yourself a favor and stay in a hotel!
