Lovely place and people
It’s very central. Great location. Both men at reception are very helpful and kind and made our stay very welcoming. I will definitely return.

The room was okay, the bed was very good, especially after a long day out. We didn't expect more so overall it was good. The hostel is a 10min walk away from the nearest tram-station. There are many touristic spots in a radius of a 30min walk and on the way to basically anywhere you walk past at least 10 restaurants. There are also little markets closeby for basic necesities. Would book this room again if we came to visit once more!

It was so fun waking up at 5 in the morning to the Call to Prayer from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque! I didn't think we could hear it from Piya, but we COULD! So cool! Plus an alleyful of adorable stray cats. Eye candy! We had trouble finding it, but it was so neat asking locals, and the last one we consulted knew exactly where it was. You go through a tunnel to get there. So many flowers in bloom en route. The next morning we had fun poking around the streets en route to our ferry ride to the Tulip Festival. Piya is very near a bus top by the Bosphorus Sea which goes to Eminou ferry. Really interesting walking district there. There is no breakfast, but you feast your eyes on all the sights and sounds, and that is good enough for me. The sweet host met us at 11:30 p.m. to show us to our room. I hope we can return someday. It's quaint and fun. LOL!

The only good thing about this place is the cats outside. We checked in and learned shortly after that the room didn’t have air conditioning or hot water. (Air conditioning is listed as an amenity). The staff was nice and moved us to a new room that had both. However, the rooms are very dirty, look like they’ve never been cleaned. The bathroom leaks and always has water on the floor. There was a scorpion in the shower and mold on the comforter. They are also currently doing construction and were banging for hours on end, often starting at early hours in the morning. It’s a place to sleep so if that’s all you need, it checks that box. It is affordable so you get what you pay for but it doesn’t look like the photos and the cleanliness is an issue that cannot be overlooked. I’m all for budget travel but I would not recommend, just feels dirty. The staff also made us pay in cash which we did not know in advance. They told us their credit card machine was broken when we arrived. When we booked via Expedia, it said we would be paying by card. Not an issue to pay in cash, but it would’ve been nice to know ahead of time so we could better prepare, especially as foreigners who have to deal with high ATM fees. The staff did give us some time to get cash but it was still unexpected. The cats outside though are very kind and sweet.

An sich ist es ein nettes kleines Hostel zu einem befriedigenden Preis. 1-2 Nächte gehen klar, mehr allerdings nicht. Das was am meißten stört ist, dass es nicht dort ist wo es auf Google angegeben wurde. Man bucht dort, in der Hoffnung, dicht am Geschehen zu sein, muss dann allerdings 10 Minuten weiteren Fußweg auf sich nehmen, der an unzähligen Restaurants und engen Gassen vorbei führt. Mit Koffe auf GAR KEINEN FALL zu empfehlen.
