"This is a lovely villa in a lovely peaceful location, the pool was well maintained and the house was clean. There are however a number of negatives with this property; when we booked the property the pool was advertised as heated, it is not. There are air conditioning units in the sitting room and one in the master bedroom, neither of which work, we understand they have been "disabled". We were very uncomfortable at night even with the window open, there is a fan but it is noisy and it smells as...

"This property is at the end of an unmade road which means you will see almost no-one during your stay so it's very private. It's an easy 30 minute drive from Faro. Rui, the host, is very helpful and easy to talk to. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and we wanted for nothing."

"Our group was 2 couples ( in our 60s) staying for a week. The Villa was perfect as both bedrooms had en suites along with decent sized living areas to relax. We enjoyed the fresh oranges from the groves that are part of the property. It is a very quiet and relaxing environment. We did not walk into the town as it is a long walk - a car is necessary . "Perfect villa for a family holiday. In a quiet area but not too far from Vilamoura. Fantastic authentic farmhouse with plenty of space and gorgeous entertainment areas especially the swimmong pool. Would highly recommend for a large family holoday. Jenny was a great host who was always available if you had any questions. "

"Our room was super comfortable and well set up for an extended stay. The inner courtyard was quiet and also a beautiful setup. Faro was one of our favourite places to visit and we will come back to the Algarve for a longer stay next time. There are many restaurants and a pedestrian only commercial area within 10 minute walk.The area around the hotel is undergoing a rebuild and was safe and quiet after dark when we went out for late dinner. "The Roots Hotel was very convenient and comfortable, with a great location. We needed a parking spot, which they provided in an underground garage for a cost of 7 euros per day. We also needed to be near the train station, which was a very short walk from the hotel. And we wanted to be near Faro Airport, which was a short taxi ride away. In addition, there were tons of restaurants within a few blocks from the hotel. So the location was ideal for our stay and the front desk was very friendly. They offered complimentary coffee/cappuccino, etc in a room off the lobby. The room itself had a good separate bathroom with a large shower, a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, stove, microwave and dishes/dishwasher. We had no complaints about the room at all. Out of the 6 hotels we stayed at during our visit to Portugal, The Roots would be rated in the top two. I would definitely stay there again!"

Special stay in a lovely location

"Great location and views from roof terrace and the room. Breakfast buffet was fresh, lots of choice. Staff were amazing and noticed that one of our party had a Birthday the day of our check in and arranged a lovely surprise of a bottle of Sparkling to be brought to the room. This made an already lovely stay even more special."
