Definitely not worth the almost $500 dollars/night we paid for it! The AC was not working properly. We had to call 3 times to the front desk in order to get the engineer up to our room. Finally the engineer came and said that there was no issues with the thermostat… that we should give it some time to cool… we told him that we set it to the lowest temperature in the morning and when we got back late afternoon it was even warmer than in the morning. So he said he was going to check the equipment upstairs… Later I called again the front desk, and also texted them and they finally said that the engineer cannot do anything else to fix the AC and that we could change to a different room. We had a wedding to attend that night so we said we would move when we come back. But since we arrived late, we didin’t want to go thought the hassle of changing rooms for 1 more night so we decided to stay in the same room. The problem with that room is that even though it was colder outside, we couldn’t even open a window since there’s no balcony or window we could have opened in order to freshen the room.

I selected this stay based on past reviews which were mostly 4 stars and property photos but was very disappointed when we actually entered our room. The condition of the furniture, upholstery, mattress/bedding, draperies is very worn, tattered and filthy. Daily housekeeping was a towel change, trash empty and a scoot out of the room, no actual cleaning was done. Our sheets were not changed for 3/4 days even though it was needed...sand/oils etc. The boxspring is badly stained and the bedskirt to cover this boxspring does not fit appropriately, never neat or tidy and half covered if at all-no effort. The dresser is warped so there is not a flat top surface, the drawers lean forward & kept sliding open, the hinges on the fridge cabinet door are hanging off, the toe kick is rotten along with the bed base platform. The shower glass and mirrors not cleaned, the floors not cleaned once, the sink and countertops not cleaned/wiped, the soap dish never cleaned/filled with soap mess, sliding doors never touched or the door tracks for years, the balcony glass railing smudged with fingerprints, water stains way prior to our arrival. The water in the shower has a very bad sulfur/rotten egg smell 5 minutes into bathing, awful. No idea if this should be concerning or not. The positive.. grounds, beach, pool, landscaping are beautiful, front and back. The lobby, bar and lounge seating are well done, breakfast is amazing! Shuttle service is awesome-great drivers!!

Property in need of major upgrades. Both lamps on bedside did not work. Room was very dimly lit with floor lamps far away to turn them off at night. Toilet paper holder broken. Bathroom water would be on the entire bathroom floor after taking a bath as there was no wall to prevent it. Entire corridor and hallway had musty smell. HVAC unit was tremendously loud all night. I can list few more BUT, inspite of all this they charged almost $65/night in resort fees. WHAT RESORT AMENITIES THEY PROVIDE? Will not recommend this property.

The woman at the front desk at check in was so friendly and was joking around with us. Didnt get her name. The hotel itself was clean. But the room floors made my feet dirty. The pool was not warm.

The resort was lovely and provided everything we could possibly need. They had indoor and outdoor dining and bars, a pool, fully equipped small gym, docking for boats, a shuttle service by land and a shuttle boat to their other two sister resorts. They have bicycles, kayaks, and paddle boards to use. There was fishing gear available to rent and for $3.50 a ball you could hit golf balls in the water.. When we arrived they offered us a free cocktail and a refillable water bottle to use around the resort and take with you.Just stayed 2 nights and wish I had booked it longer. Islamarada is the place to be. Wish we hadn't left to go to Marathon. I will definitely return. My favorite place to stay in the Keys.

The property was beautiful. Our favorite part was the fishing lesson we did with Patrick. He was a true gem. The hotel is also very close to really great restaurants. We will definitely be back.

Our favorite part of our stay was taking the Rum Runner with Captain Mike and Jen. They made this complimentary experience that was offered to us as guests the highlight of our stay. From the history and information we learned about the keys while on the open water, to their personal and professional touch of taking photos, engaging in conversations, helping us learn the spots in each resort to check out, and local things not to miss, it was by far the best time. We loved the music played on the boat, and how it was decorated for the holidays too. We probably would not have gone to the other resorts but this made it a fun experience and we loved being able to check out what else we had access to by visiting this way. Highly recommend.
