From check-in to assisting with booking any tours/tickets/dinner reservations Fred at the front desk was always so helpful and greeted me by name every time he was there. Fred made it so easy to plan my adventures, helped with suggestions anytime I needed, was very responsive on WhatsApp when I was out exploring Rio, and spoke great English which helped my lack of Portuguese. "Wonderful hotel"

"We stayed last minute after a cancelled flight so was just a place to rest for a few hours. Room sad and tired and old. Staff at check in not overly friendly but the breakfast staff lovely. It’s not luxurious but at that price I guess can’t be surprised. Bed was comfy despite the room looking in need of improvement. "

"Dona Marguerita uma senhora de 84 anos muito simpática que faz de tudo para ajudar os seus clientes. Não tem como se sentir em casa. Toda manhã vc acorda e a mesa café da manhã já está repleta, no período da tarde nos chamávamos para tomar um cafezinho… tudo de bom. Já se hospedamos 2 vezes lá e com certeza se voltarmos para o Rio já sabemos onde vamos se hospedar de novo. Agora localidade muito bem centralizada, 3 quadras do mar,( praia de Ipanema ) algumas quadras da lagoa, proximo da estação...
