About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Private, woods, trails, Duck Lake access, Kayaking, Interlochen concerts

Modern home located at the end of a sandy two track, private with easy access to many attractions. Township Permit # PSTR 23-050. Located between Duck and Green Lake, with joint lake access to Duck Lake. Close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Interlochen Arts Academy Events, and Interlochen State Park, Crystal Mountain Ski and Golf Resort. There are three bedrooms for six guests plus two age 15 or under. There are two full bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a vintage tub), a fully loaded, newly renovated kitchen, washer and dryer, satellite TV in living room and Master bedroom. Gas grill on patio. Wood burning stove in living room.

Our house is not on Duck Lake but we do share lake access just at the end of our road. Lake access 1/10 of a mile, joint access with boat mooring available. Due to swimmers itch swimming is safe waste deep but lengthy wading in the shallow is risky. I have been swimming in Duck Lake for 11 years and have never had swimmers itch, as long as you are careful and towel off the risk is very low. There are areas of the lake where you can wade and play frizbee, etc without concern but you need to boat there, thus a boat or kayak is a great way to enjoy this lake. We have provided 2 kayaks complimentary with the house. State Park and Interlochen Arts Academy 1.5 miles north. State park has a beach area and the Arts Academy houses many prominent concerts and performances in multiple art forms. Just a short distance away from Traverse City, MI, host of the National Cherry Festival, Traverse City Film Festival. Leelanau and Old Mission Peninsula's with over 20 vineyards. Many lakes, rivers and beaches within 20 minute radius. Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes 30 minutes. Many golf resort opportunities: Grand Traverse Resort, Arcadia Bluffs, Crystal Mountain and many other smaller courses. State Park and Interlochen Arts Academy 1.5 miles north.

Great house; great location; great hostess!
Wonderful stay! Ideal place for old friends to be near their school reunion, to be immersed in the fall color of Interlochen, and still have all the modern conveniences. I highly recommend this property!

Quiet, woodsy house
This is a very comfortable, clean house in the woods. The kitchen is well equipped and the host was very responsive to my questions and comments. We didn't use the kayaks because we went to my brother's house during the day and used theirs.

Beautiful location, but unfortunate interaction with host
The house itself definitely gets a 9/10. It was very clean upon arrival, had beautiful big windows to view nature surrounding the house, and had everything you needed to be comfortable during your stay. The location felt safe and had outdoor seating options which was very nice. The host also pointed out the reverse osmosis water opinions in the kitchen, which was great! Unfortunately due to an interaction with the host that left us all feeling uneasy and hesitant to reach out with any further questions during our stay brought the overall rating down. Upon inquiring about the gym that was listed under amenities, along with the overabundance of black and grey mold colonies in the upstairs AC unit, the host had a very cold interaction with us. I messaged the host to ask if there were any supplies for us to clean out the mold so we could use the unit (it was pretty hot upstairs), the host was very quick to respond and came over within an hour with supplies. Unfortunately upon inspection of the AC unit with the host, we were questioned on how we knew it was mold, and if we went to school to identify it. Three of us in the group have bachelor's of science degrees and were quite taken back by that unnecessary comment. The inside of the unit was covered in mold, easy to see. We felt extremely uncomfortable after the interaction. The next day the host did apologize for the gym being falsely listed, which was appreciated, maybe they had a bad day prior?

Loved this well-stocked, clean & relaxing retreat in the woods near Interlochen Center for the Arts. Great kitchen- nice appliances- we cooked every night. Also the kayaks for the lake were a sweet bonus! Evening walks in the quiet of nature were magical- fireflies! Can’t wait to return for peace & beauty just one mile from ICA

Second Stay
This was our second stay at this house. We love the location. We took trips into Traverse, Empire and Crystal for skiing. Dogs love walking the trails through the woods. We got a lot of use out of the woodburning stove. Not super fancy but a great house that makes for an easy family vacation.

Home was as described. Actually larger then it appears in the pictures. Host was friendly. She came over to the property shortly after we arrived and showed us how to use the wood stove (stove is not the main source of heat, there is a furnace) we did not use the stove.

Excellent Place to Stay in the Woods
We arrived about 10pm on a rainy dark night. The directions got us there great with google maps. We enjoyed seeing the inside( great). The bedrooms of which there were 3 and bath rooms (2) were very clean and comfortable. The large TV worked great in the living room and the TV in the king size bedroom was a very nice touch. Seating in the living was very wonderful. Best of all was the kitchen( very up to date with new appliances) The stove was gas. We made ourselves breakfast the next morning. Relaxing and enjoying the views of the woods even through the rain.We had a wedding to attend in Traverse City in the afternoon so did not get to take advantage of that immediate area. It looked tempting but without the rain.Above everything, the price was very reasonable. We enjoyed it very much!!!!!!
