DO NOT do what I did: reserve the 3-room apartment and show up at the given address. (The instruction to make prior arrangements if you are arriving after 10:30 pm is completely misleading.). It is an apartment building with no way to get in and no way to contact anyone. We were about to return to Turin to search...

"This wonderful B&B was perfect for my weekend ski trip. It was close Valtournenche/Breuil-Cervinia and less than an hour to Courmayer. The host was exceptional, and provided a lovely breakfast each day. Saint-Vincent and it’s twin Châtillon were quaint and offered enjoyable local cuisine. I would love to stay at Il Torchio again!"

"Cogne is simply beautiful. Small enough to be charming, big enough to stay busy and entertained. The Chateau Royal was a great home base. Centrally located, comfortable and we'll equipped. We originally booked two nights but added two more as it was such a great village with so much to do. We hiked, fished, rafted and paraglided plus catching some of the abundant castles and forts in the Sister Valley). This one is a do-over (we'll be back:-)."
