A classic Texas Hill Country retreat awaits at AO Kitchen House, located west of Ingram on the Guadalupe River. Spend memorable, relaxing days playing with your kids on the extensive grounds and roasting marshmallows around the firepit at night.

This single-story home sits just north of the river in Ingram. It's an ideal location less than a mile from the heart of town, where you can swim at the Ingram Dam, visit Stonehenge II, or take in a performance at the Hill Country Arts Foundation. This part of Texas is also fantastic for wine tasting, with many renowned wineries between here and Fredericksburg (33 miles northeast). Should you want to explore further, enjoy the many sights and scenes of San Antonio, and additionally, Sea World. Fiesta Texas, the Alamo, and the famous Riverwalk are just a short drive away.

Each clear, quiet morning begins on the expansive grounds, a space that's shared with one other house on the property. Go strolling in the shade with a fresh mug of coffee, watch your kids delight in a bit of make-believe in the treehouse, and linger into the evening to barbecue on the gas grill.

Inside, the house is quirky and eclectic in all the right ways, with natural wood crossbeams enhancing the charm and character. You'll have plenty of space to hang out with your loved ones between the well-equipped kitchen (complete with a coffee pot and Instapot), the dining area, and the light-filled family room with a TV and leather furnishings. Of the bedrooms, one is a classic primary suite; the other is a colorful, window-lined bunkroom for the kids.

It was a great place for kids to run around. Enjoyed the property after figuring out a few things but I would definitely stay there again. Wish there was a washer/dryer.

Camp pick up weekend
We were picking up from Camp Mystic and loved the location and found this quaint cabin a perfect fit for staying in the Kerrville area. Well appointed bathrooms and soft towels. AC was great and kept up in the hot hill country weather. Seemed to be a nicely stocked kitchen even though we really didn't cook too much because of the restaurants we wanted to try while visiting the area. We will book again next year for camp drop off / pick up.

Amazing, comfortable home with beautiful views!
Our group absolutely loved staying in the AO Kitchen house! The beds were so comfortable, and we had plenty of space to relax together. We loved the big kitchen and table where we at all of our meals. Our favorite part of the stay was the beautiful views on the property. Waking up each morning to see deer in the yard was really nice. We drank our morning coffee on the outside patio and enjoyed the quiet grounds and even took a walk on the private riverfront! I can’t say enough great things about this house. We will definitely be back! Booking, check-in, and check-out were super easy, and the team communicated so well with us any time we needed anything.

Great cabin with beautiful river access
Had a family weekend to drop kids at camp. Master bedroom and kids room with four twin beds and lots of toys and games. Very clean and decorated cabin. Air conditioning works great. Front of the house has a few acres of trees and native plants. We saw several white tail deer and a heard of 14 axis deer. Kids thought that was amazing. Back of the house has a neat tree house and stairs leading down to the river. Have to cross the two lane road. Down more stairs to the river. Beautiful spot with oak trees thick green st Augustine grass and enormous cypress trees. Patio with picnic tables, lots of chairs and a ladder into the water. We jumped in and the river was very deep and cool. The directions are very accurate. Sign at the front says “The Blairs Axis Oaks”. You do have to unlock and manually open and close the gate each time you come and go. Great spot for relaxing in the Hill Country and on the Guadalupe River
